We lived with a 90's inspired living room for far too long (sadly I forgot to take a before with the carpeting that we replaced with hardwood), here's it today! Very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks Khaanee! It's a Behr color "Beachtowel" A fun bold color for sure!

    Really very attractive.

I love the carpet, I have one that is similar. But, I would look for one that has more gray and blue in it and maybe one that is more contemporary. It could be a bit larger. You might find carpeting by the yard that you could have cut and bound in a custom size.

houssaon, thanks for the input! I had originally had a contemporary carpet in place, but my husband inherited this carpet from his mom (Heriz 1950-ish) so it will be staying :) Thankfully it's a great size (the room is just huge), the carpet is 8'10 x 11'2". There is some of the same blue in very tiny specs in the carpet.

Very nice! I could never be that bold... but to my disadvantage. Looks great! it shows how well it works!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I definately pushed the comfort zone bringing in such a bold color into what had been a very traditional room, but we're so pleased with the result. It was my second room design and very happy how it looks.

This is the back of the room looking from the ottoman. it's a 72" console table and a 48" x 20" picture that I took.

Paint the inside of that little wall alcove the same color as the grey?lavendar?wall that are on the rest of the living room walls. It'subtle but gives the alcove dimension and a tie in to the living room. (By the staircase)
