Some of the larger photos could be hung on the wall. Maybe no more than three regular size photos on a single shelf. Using the bins are good for a lot of loose items, but the draw attention to that area. Take out the bin in the middle of eCh shelf. Other items should be place in similar categories. Three to four things per shelf.

Maybe place all the bins on the bottom shelves? If you are able maybe switch them for baskets - or paint these a soft beige. Remove some of the photos or layer the photos on top of each other. Personally I would add some bottles and small plants and use about 1/2 the photos.

too much going on.. reduce items on the shelf to about half of what you have now. throw in some vases with flowers, books, and other decorative items. 2-3 things per shelf.

Recessed shelving is not the ideal place to display photos and when properly styled only a few of them, shrewdly placed and interspersed among books and other decor looks best. Perhaps you needed to attach hangers for them so they could be wall hung and arranged in groupings. Often a long hallway to the bedrooms is a great location for displaying personal photos. People will have the leisure to peruse them as they wall down the hall. They can also look nice on their own wall somewhere else, but not filling the shelves. You should arrange your shelves with 1/3 books, 1/3 decor items and 1/3 open space. If shelve on end units are adjustable do so and make the bottom opening uniform. Paint or stain the containers a darker color to anchor and ground the entire piece, placing them all on the bottom. If you do use photos in your arrangements, select three per grouping, each a different size and layer them with large one behind and smaller ones in front. A layered look is more interesting than lining them up like railroad cars. Use one or two of such groupings on the entire unit. Right now, you've over done the picture gallery.
