Here is where I currently am....what do I do next? Change the chargers? Add a runner, and what color...seems like I need some color...before and after...

Please no runners on the table.

Is it the pic with the rug now? Would be good to add a console, or a sideboard against the wall, a couple of tall lamps with black (not too wide) lamp shades, a mirror on the wall in between, painting, or wall art. If what the mirror will be reflecting is not what you want to see while you are eating, then, wall art would be better. More pics of the room please.

I wouldn't set the table permanently. Just a beautiful large bowl in the centre of the table or a vase with flowers between the two decorative finials you have in the last picture.
    - a different chandelier
    - a sideboard
    - art
    - lamps on the sideboard

Thanks for the advice! Searching for a sideboard and chandelier. It takes me a while to decide on art. Lol

I liked the room with no rug, server or lamps. Beautiful colors!

Then I would find the most awesome rectangular prism shaped glam lighting for over the table!

Flair lighting. That was before...but I love what you did. Can you do it for my pic of the room now...

I think a new chandelier would give the area a fresher look. Also adding some bold colors, such as oranges, reds, and yellows through accents, wall art, and a centerpiece would give the room more character.

so what is the now? with the rug and acorns?
The rug is fine, there is nothing wrong with it.

Change out the fabric on the seats. Something that picks up the gold on your walls and maybe brings in at least one other color.

Centre the table under the light. The rug is fine, especially when you don't have the end chairs at the table. Bit too short if you include the end chairs. But if you don't have them at the table all the time, I'd forget about that.
Have you considered shutters? Or (faux) wooden blinds with curtains or curtain panels to soften the look and make it richer?

I like the sort of monochromatic look you have with the chairs, rug and wall colour and wouldn't necessarily add another colour.

I would really love to see some red in there and definitely some art that would knock your socks off, something unexpected. I would weight the window with either shutters or some draperies because your furniture is quite hefty. The mini blinds don't hold their own in there. If you want to remain a bit more subtle, I would recover the seat cushions with something rich and textured, picking up a bit of the color in your rug. I would get larger lamps in a toned down metal as in not too shiny but just enough that it is not blending in like your dark ones are now. I agree that a mirror would look quite nice in there if you don't find art to suit you. It has the potential to have several very pretty looks. What would style would you like to have?

Just to show you how things look together :-) I'm thinking that picking up the grey of the rug in the curtains could be nice:

The lamps on the buffet don't work . I would look for something with black shades or grey and taller . Those would be great in a bedroom .
I agree no runners or placemats . An arrangement of dark and light green would look great .
Maybe a linen look drapery . With black rods in a cast iron look . pottery Barn has great window hardware
