Mix match kitchen

What can I do with my cabinets? I would like to paint them not sure of the color that would match the backsplash. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint as well. The countertop needs to be replaced. I would love to put granite, but laminate will have to do. I'm on a fixed income and have very tiny budget.

I'd wait to pick a paint color for the cabinets (although white seems to be a popular choice) and walls until after you decide on the color for the countertop. There are some laminates that mimic the look of granite that you might want to check out. Adding some pulls or knobs or the cabinets after you paint could help freshen things up too.

I would suggest a dark color- cherry, mahogany, etc for the cabinets, to create a nice contrast with the back splash, and would pick a light color for the countertop, maybe a shade close to your backslash.

I would get rid of the backsplash unless you love it , it is driving your whole color scheme and I think that is crazy , Get rid of the weird valances above the window. The backsplash that is there, is it actal tile or just a sheet product.?

If you paint the wall a color that is close to the cabinet color the cabinets will blend in with the walls and you won't notice the cabinets as much. It's only a suggestion since you don't have a lot of money to spend on new cabinets. Also Murphy's oil will help renew them. I did this and it made the kitchen look bigger.

Your cabinets are nice. I think painting them might make them look cheap. A nicer counter with some hold in it would look nice. Plus the backsplash is more of problem than cabinets. I would change that out. Using colors from counters in a glass tile. Or mosaic .

Remove valance, and bakers rake. Just looks to cluttered. Remove everything from walls. Then paint a latte color. A color like coffee with lots of cream.
