Need help choosing a floor for Living room, kitchen 2 bedrooms, entry in my small lake cottage home. I currently have unfinished Red Oak Stairs in the living room that will be finished to match the floor when it's put in. Do I need to stick with Red Oak because the stairs are red oak? I like the stained hickory - See attached pictures or should I just go with a natural oak? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
