Great idea and placement

the dog station is a great idea for the dogs themselves. It brings their food up higher to their height for better health. Would you east standing on your head?I have that for my dogs no more mess and less health problems.

Know that within one year that the wood around these bowls will most likely be ruined from the enzymes in their saliva. And if there is a water bowl here, you can forget about the wainscoting as well. If you're considering this, you might want to place them in a a matching Corian slab. Make sure all joints are caulked well.

edit:Thanks Artisan-didn't even imagine this station for a cat and thanks for following up! Not all animals slobber when they eat so it's not an issue at all with some dog breeds. My English pointer caused no issues, but a boxer or lab owner would possibly want to plan ahead.

The cabinetry is perfectly intact after almost 4 years, but I appreciate your concern.

In a subsequent adaptation of the same idea, we did include stainless steel around the bowls for more protection of the horizontal surface.
