My ideas are probably more mainstream than unique, but ......
I would paint all the cabinetry - white or off-white for the main ones, and maybe a warm grey for the island. I would also go for four low-backed stools for the island - maybe in a funky accent colour.

The cabinets and kitchen are gorgeous. The only thing I might do is change the pendants to something amazing.

The lay out of your cabinets, the design of the doors as well as having varied height at the hearth inspired stove area and crown molding all are elements that lend themselves well to a traditional kitchen in antique white with a different colored island. Your granite, backsplash and flooring too would look great with this color. I would be tempted to replace the four pendant lights with two large lanterns or urn light, if that is possible. Glass cabinet doors on either side of your stove cabinets if that would work for you, would also look nice.

If I were to paint the cabinets a creamy white... Any suggestions? And the walls I would like a light gray.. I haven't had a great experience with a successful random paint choice.. Thanks for all your ideas!

For a warm colorway, try BM #912 Linen White and BM #HC-173 Edgecomb Gray. If you like cooler tones, try BM #970 White Down and BM #1479 Alaskan Husky.

I would keep the cabinets as they are. Do the island in a solid color, coffee, dark chocolate, or brick red. The wall behind the cabinets need a color to pop the cabinets. Change the pendent lights to something with some color. Visually, this would remove the island from the kitchen area. The room needs color.

Maybe it's just the quality of the photo, but the cabinets look pretty dreary the way they are. Painting a lighter color (white, off-white, or even a light gray) would significantly lighten up the space. I agree with others that some additional color by way of accessories or wall color or wall art would also help.

I would paint the cabinets a warm creamy white with the exception of the island. Leave the island as is! It will give the impression of a beautiful furniture piece.
Replace the pendant lighting with a reclaimed rubbed bronze colour and glass shade with Edison bulbs.
Clear the pieces away from the top of the upper cabinets... You have a large kitchen and this makes it look like you are short on storage.

Benjamin Moore White Dove is a nice soft white. Would look great with a shade of grey on the walls and some stunning lighting.

Like donnab's suggestion to leave the island as is to accompany the antique white cabinets.

It already is unique and beautiful. If you paint your cabinets, you will be like everyone else. I guess I am getting sick of the white cabinet following
