What type of wood is on the floor..How does it stand to water?

I'm not sure what this is, but we have something similar in two of our bathrooms and it's wood tile! Wood tile is a wonderful alternative in a wet space, and most flooring stores sell it. We purchased a lot of tile, including our wood tile, at Floor and Decor outlets. Great prices, and there is a store near us. However, if they are not near you, here is their web site. It was the one in the link above, laid in a brick (staggered) pattern. I think it would be lovely! We're in FL, and a lot of people here are putting it in their kitchens as well.

That I do not know . . . although I have a paint in my home that is very similar. It's Valspar (Lowe's), Powder Blue #4.

A lot of tile companies are creating tile that appears as wood flooring, but is wonderful for bathrooms and kitchens because it can stand up to the moisture of these areas. Most tile companies should offer what you're looking for, and they are gorgeous.
