Help... I need to pick my faucets and cabinet hardware in the next few days. I am really torn!

I love the look of polished nickel. It just seems so pretty, upscale and the jewelry for the kitchen.

With all that said.... this kitchen will be in a summer home on the water. People will be coming and going constantly. I need something that will be easy to maintain and not show a ton of fingerprints.

Should I use polished nickel or satin nickel faucets?
Should I use cups and knobs in the polished or satin?
Should I just play it really safe and have cabinet hardware be wood painted the same as the cabinets?

Do different brands of hardware fare differently then others????
