I don't love mine.

I've got granite and quartz and I love the granite like whoa. Put anything on there and it's pretty much indestructible. The quartz drives me nuts. It stains easily. It chipped when my boyfriend dropped a glass on it. I got granite on my island but quartz around the perimeter thinking quartz would be more robust. Ha! I regret that decision now.

Other people's mileage may vary but I'll never get quartz again.

We just redid our kitchen and got Cambria Quarts and LOVE it. ( http://houseofgoldvb.com/2014/04/01/the-kitchen-in-all-its-glory/) I don't usually put hot pots/ pans directly on counters (I've grown up with laminate, so it's never been something I grew accustomed to), so that's not an issue for me.

I love it because it's easy to clean, looks incredible, and I'm pretty pleased with it...

We have quartz in our kitchen and love it! We put stuff on the counter straight from the microwave and no problems. We do use trivets when taking pans out from the stove or oven, or we place it on the stove top area instead. We've cut food on the counter and there's no chipping or scratching. There's also no need to seal like you do with granite. Granite has too much movement and we liked the variety of colors and simpler, clean look of quartz. We're even thinking of replacing all our bathroom counters with quartz someday.

We used Chroma quartz and I would suggest researching the brand since there may be a difference in the quality some companies use.
