Can you tell me who makes the floor tile? Is it porcelain or real stone?

This is a ceramic tile. It's sized 18x18 and is called Ash Churchill Ridge Ceramic Tile.

i like the way you have staggered it. i am remodelling my kitchen, was wondering if i could stagger my 17x26 tile like this perpendicular to the island, like how you have done. what do you think?

I have a very similar floor only the tiles are 4 different sizes. It is beautiful but I recently had a real estate broker tell me these tiles were dated. I don't think so. What do you think?

Have no idea, but I'm a big believer in doing what YOU like, not what the current fad is. We have wood paneling in our den, and I know it's dated, but WE LIKE IT!!!! Probably coming back in style soon, anyway!
