I Love my Rowenta, i have dropped several times, well with the $ oh the surge of steam is the best. I replace irons every 10 yrs

Now when I need a new one I look up reviews and buy the least expensive with the best reviews. Not being cheap. I've had a top of the the line Rowenta and loved it. However, it didn't last any longer than a cheapie-about 18 months.

I bought a Rowenta several years ago when my oldie-but-goodie died with the thought that you get what you pay for. It's alright, but nothing to rave about, sometime it spits out water and I have to fill the tank quite often. I'm just glad I had a coupon.

I have a Rowenta, but I need a new one,,I don't use it that often anymore,,hardly ever..It is heavy, which it's good for large items such as bedding, but I would prefer a lighter one. The reason I need a new one is because it started leaking. If there is water left in, it will leak once the iron is cold.

I had a hand-me-down Rowenta for several years and also found toward the end of it's time with me (I dropped it) that it spit. Replaced it with a Sunbeam (which I had before the Rowenta) and for the little ironing I do, I am pleased, since it does the job and didn't cost much (on sale).

Love the ironing board idea. Always handy for quick jobs.

Irons I have no idea, what is good. They all seem to do the same thing. Iron your clothes, I would not spend a lot of money on one.

Rowenta. Mine burnt up, so I robbed my cheap Sunbeam from the horsebarn.... right now, it is not my first priority... but they are great!

I have a steamer purchased from Kmart, it is amazing, my lovely Braun iron has not had an outing since I purchased that. Have to say, the Braun Saphir-jet was and is amazing, so much so I looked for another to have in reserve if anything happened to it

I like my Black & Decker iron circa 1994. It's heavy and steams easily.

Rowenta steam generating one with the water resevoir that sits under the iron. I am not talking your regular steam iron but one that makes steam under pressure like in a pro laundry. I iron almost everything so it is important to me.

In my business I sew window treatments, so a good iron is essential. I've tried quite a few of them and my favorite is the Reliable Sensor Velocity V200 iron. It's a steam generator iron, so you can have lots of continuous steam even when the soleplate is a low temperature. And it never leaks or spits. Reliable also makes a V50 and V100. They are all great and work similarly, but my favorite is the V200.

LauraStar and ElnaPress are all I need.
But my fantasy ironing system is the Miele Rotary iron -- similar to a mangle. Unfortunately, the Miele is even more expensive than my LauraStar.

I will say this, I had no idea, no way to imagine that things that used to cost $30 are now $150-$300. How can a toaster be $100? Or a set of faucet handles $300? And an iron, for heaven's sake...? It's a hot plate, a water reservoir and an electrical cord and the prices are ridiculous!

I got a Rowenta for a wedding gift years ago. Used it a couple of years and wasn't all that impressed with it. After a couple years it died and I bought the cheapest Sunbeam iron I could find. I quilt as a hobby, so I use my iron a lot and every couple years it starts to leak and I just go out and buy a new cheap Sunbeam!

Emily, I iron...a lot. Have had a Rowenta Professional model for the last 7 years. It was pricier but has been a consistent performer. It has been the best one yet in 40 years of ironing. Besides not dropping it, the best thing you can do for your iron is to use distilled water or remove mineral deposits periodically with a commercial product. A good steam is what makes ironing easier. I soak the metal plate in a shallow pan of vinegar a couple of times a year and steam out residue when done. On any model, look at the bottom plate to check the number of steam openings. Rowenta's website helps you select the best iron for the level of ironing you do. When your iron does die, please take it to an electronic recycle center...lot of metal in the plate and copper can be removed from the wiring. May be checking out Angela's "Reliable Sensor".

I have purchased several Rowenta irons and much more satisfied with my Black and Decker!

All that matters to me is 'auto-off' because ironing makes me stupid.

My latest is a Rowenta and it's by far the best I've had. Not super pricey at Bed Bath & Beyond.

I hated my Rowenta. Too heavy. I find that I like the cheap ones from Target. They do just as good a job for what I use them for and they aren't so darned heavy!

If you find yourself repetitively dropping your iron, the best iron you can buy is the cheapest one you can find (and a good pair of steel toed fuzzy slippers).

I've owned a couple Rowenta's and they are good. But I researched reviews on Amazon and ended up with a Singer-it's awesome!!!

My Rowenta iron is the only one that never drips/spits water like my other irons - Sunbeam, Black and Decker did.

Rowenta, the ones made in Germany, not the cheaper models made in China, will make you a happy ironer!!

I'm a seamstress and I like the Rowenta because of the amount of steam it generates. A few years ago I switched to a gravity feed iron which is great but I still have a Rowenta to take on sewing retreats.

Companies like Argos here in the UK sell lots of similar irons at around £30. They are probably just as good as each other. However, I would advise to look for one that can stand on its end - mine falls over when I try to store it upright because it's not balanced properly.

I bought a LauraStar iron/board from local dealer and paid at the time $1800.00 for it. It worked okay for several years but got to the point that it no longer would produce steam. I took it to the dealer for repair and was told it would be sent out of state for fixing. After 6-8months I called to Rheil Sew andVac to see what the status was. I was advised that it could not be fixed and I could either buy a new one or I could have the old one back but it would cost me $600.00 to ship it to me and that I would still have it back in same condition, ie: not working.

to this day, I felt that there was something wrong with this picture but didn't know what to do. I left the store and said I would think about it. I never received it back, although I wonder now if I was scammed or if this really was the case. I didn't know where else to go for advice until just finding your website. Karen, Anchorage, AK.
