This staircase ends at our front door. I want to paint it but my husband does not. I think it looks dated and would even be helped with the addition of white trim. All of the trim in our house is white, our hardwood floors are light (until we remodel in a few years :). Our decor is transitional to modern with formal den, living and dinning room and a casual family room. Should I go for it? Just add some white or should I paint the railing black?
