I've read a review that it was not comfortable and that it's best to buy for an office. Is this ideal for comfortable long periods of sitting?

Thank you for your question! One thing to note is that this is not a 'sink in' sofa. The cushions for this item is a multi-density foam, they will be firm at first but will soften more over use. The back of the sofa is not upright but are slanted, it’s designed to slouch or scrunch down into.
