I need help in deciding what kind of flooring to put throughout a house that I have listed for sale. It is my sister's house, I am settling her estate/ Although very attractive, I've had no offers. I've concluded I must take it off the market and change out the flooring.
Current floor coverings are a combination of vinyl ( kitchen, utility room, and 2nd master bath); Pergo in entry, halls, 2nd master and den, and "new shag" in living room, game room and main master. I've decided this is the main deterrent to sales: just too overwhelming for buyers to undertake, and to bite the bullet and replace flooring throughout.
My question is, which will be the most universally desirable: tile, wood or laminate, or wood-look tile? I don't want to break the bank, but I do want to move this house. This is in the Southwest, north Tucson area, so I'd like to keep it light and easy care. I have all tile in my home, with carpet in bedrooms and den, but people seem to be trending away from any type of carpet.
