What kind of wood was used for the writing desk?

Thanks, There is a steel plate sandwiched between the vertical wooden window jambs. The plate is L shaped with the horizontal portion cantilevered out to carry the desk. You can see the two black recessed bolts in the vertical jamb. Basically the desk structure in integrated with the window frame structure.
