Thought would be the colours (Australian spelling :) ) are a little 'same'. There is nothing stand out. Would the door stand out more a different colour? The bush in the front is a little dominating and out of line with the rest of the manicured and lovely gardens! Good luck with your changes

I would recommend designing a small courtyard in the area immediately in front of your entrance and make it the focal point with an urn or fountain, some benches, and lots of flowering perennials. I would then design a walkway that leads the viewer into the courtyard, and I'd also recommend painting your door a brighter color. The hydrangeas are attractive but they're dominating the picture. First of all, remove any left-over shutters. I see one and it looks lost and lonely.

And I agree with Metes; create a front patio, make sure there are no plants in front of the front door. A bit further off would be fine. Visualize a pathway towards it, not a straight line, but something that pulls the attention towards the entry.

Good looking home, but that door is in a bad spot. First thought would be a porch roof. If you started a shed roof where the corner of the chimney intersects with the house, and went a bit past the vertical on the wall to the right of the bench, it would work.

And I'm not advising on the log cabin look of the house from the first picture, but I am referring to the chimney and the red window frames, with a lighter trim. If possible, move the front door a little away from the chimney. Wider planks (wood/composite) for siding would look lovely, but so would stucco with some stone veneers. I understand the shingle idea, it would be more craftsman-ish.

Love your inspiration photo! I think you can achieve a similar look with shingles and board and batten surrounding the door. A new light and possibly a less frou-frou bench would help as well. Are some of your windows bronze, or are those just the screens?

Thx for the photo shop rinqreation. Love the pop on the door. Sadly can not move it, which is why I thought of the board and batten change (thx bluenan for the correct verbiage-senior mind.). Just screens on windows. Would anyone think putting moulding to marry the 4 front windows would work?

I think trimming out the windows is a great idea, It shouldn't be a big undertaking.

Landscaping will made a world of difference. A slate path widening out to a courtyard as Medes and Bounds suggested would call attention to your entry and paint the door a bright color. I don't see a need to replace siding but I would take off the shutters. The bench does not fit the style of your house. I see no need to move the door, you can make this work.
