If you are concerned about bending down and lifting then you should seriously consider the wall ovens.....

I prefer an under the counter oven that is separate from the cooktop.

I like the cleanliness of a cooktop rather than a slide in stove / oven combination which allows dirt and food to fall between the counter and the stove.

There are even some wonderful double ovens that will fit under a 36" cooktop in the cabinetry for a very sreamlined look.

However I do have clients who have purchased beautiful slide in stove / ovens that have become the feature item of their kitchens.

The reason that I don't like double wall ovens is that they take up precious counter space in a small kitchen. However if you have the room, then by all means, go for it.

One bit of advice is to keep the wall ovens off to the side and out of the main preparation area because they don't need to be there. You only have to be in front of the oven once in a while since they are not a part of the kitchen prep.....

Wall ovens have more of a professional kitchen appeal. Usually higher end kitchens use wall ovens. Functionally you do not have to bend over and you can fit a double oven to cook more at once for those holidays and party nights.

I cook and entertain a lot I love my 6 burner range with gas oven and my double wall ovens. They often all come into play when doing a dinner party, they are al lconvection so baking Christmas cookies is also fun.

I prefer wall ovens. It is a cleaner look in a kitchen and it gets the heat from the ovens away from the cooktop area, which is already too hot. We are also in our 60's and I would not want to be lifting items from below countertop height.
