Great question! Unfortunately, I don't have the records of the final mix. There were several shades of semi-transparent stain tested and mixed in order to offer the homeowner/architect/builder options in the selection stage. I do know the homeowner requested that the cedar shakes be stained to look as though they had already aged even though they were new. The semi-transparent stain allowed the variation in the cedar to show through adding that extra visual texture which tends to stand the test of time as it changes and ages. The lighting in this photo is slightly off from what it looks like in real life which is a common issue with choosing paint or stain from a picture. This was a cool grey stain with the slightest touch of blue. It has, of course, changed over time and speaking with your local exterior paint professional will help you anticipate how different products will age under exterior conditions in your area. I like Sikkens and the Ben Moore in my area carries some other great exterior products as well. My best advice is to start with some samples and make some preliminary choices. Be careful with your trim color too. Not all whites are the same and will affect how the shingles reflect cool and warm tones. Best of Luck!
