If you live in an area where you don't get much rain, you may want to consider replacing some of your grass with rocks. You do need to plant some trees and shrubs, with a variety of leaf colors, for interest. Bringing in large boulders as part of your rock landscape would also work well.I suggest you hire a landscape designer to help you plan a low maintenance yard.

New plantings and landscape curbing can be a great, cost effective upgrade!

Only ground covers and bulbs along the foundation, trees in the yard, furniture on the entry terrace for coffee with your neighbor, and a frontwalk out to the street, rather than to the driveway. That should do it.

A house is not a home until it is planted.
