Kitchen sink in the island, one level counter top or two?

We must located the sink in the middle island. Kitchen Designer says to do dual levels because people are not liking the sink without a back splash. Almost all the designs I see on Houzz have them on one level and open. For those who live with it, is it a problem for you? Would you recommend it?

I prefer one level........It is much more elegant and easy to socialize with your guests across the counter.

However, it is a matter of opinion and I am sure that you will hear both sides.

One solution to the messy sink problem is to have a two drawer dishwasher so that all dirty dishes can go immediately into a dishwasher drawer even if the other drawer is still full of clean dishes.
