Esthetically they are unappealing to me. I would personally opt for some beautiful larger light fixtures that create focal points instead of something you hope less people will focus on. Lighting is everything in a room.

In my opinion your ceilings are not high enough that I would feel you would need one for circulation.

I did not vote because the poll was too ambiguous. In your case, since you are not concerned about inadequate cooling or air circulation, and you do not like the look, then what value do the fans offer? One option is to take them down, cap the boxes, and give yourself some time to see what you really want.

I agree if you don't need them get rid of them.

This is always a personal choice. However in considering please question yourself whether or not there is adequate lighting for those areas. I cannot see a reflective ceiling plan to determine whether you have proper lighting or not. Thanks

While I may not love the look, here in Southern Ca, I can imagine not having them, especially in the bedrooms. It is necessary to keep AC cost down in the summer and in reverse mode helps keeps heating costs down in the winter (which we haven't had much of in years).

here in sw florida fans are a plus. I do not like lights on them.

They may not be stylish or appealing, however they do move air in warm/hot climates. I cannot imagine going without fans here in the southwest. If your region experiences hot seasons and your local energy provider isn't sympathetic, stick with fans that are compatible with your home style.

Fans are not out at all. We don't have an air conditioner in our house because we don't like the forced air system. It's dry and makes us feel sick. A fan simply adds a breeze in the room and refreshes the air. For cooling or just to move the air around, a fan is a great idea.

Fans are great for air circulation, and like anything in your home the fixtures do get dated. There are beautiful new fans on the market that have an updated look.

Fans are a necessity in the SC Lowcountry. However, lose the lights, and make the fans as inconspicuous as possible - they should not be a decorative element.

I agree with no lights, however, what I would do is first consider your location and do the fans benefit more than not, if the answer is no benefit and you have good circulation, I would take each room individually, look at it, consider using fans where needed like maybe the sun room, and some creative chandeliers in
other rooms. Just because there was a fan there before doesn't mean you have to put them in again.

I like Simple fans no lights. Fans aren't fashion I laugh at that. A Dans fan is 400- 500 dollars and plain as can be and they call it the heat flash fan.

I voted no fans if you really don't need them. We have them in every room almost because it's so hot here. If you do get new fans, I wouldn't get white. White fans just look cheap to me.

We have 2 multi-color fans with lights and love them. Plus they help with cooling & heating.

Fans lower energy bills so I won't ever have a home without them. Our bedroom fan runs year round because we can't stand to sleep without it.
