My kitchen designer refuses to put a microwave/exhaust fan combo over the stove. She says that the microwaves made for this are typically not very good at microwaving OR venting heat from the stovetop. In addition, I have a friend who has a microwave/exhaust combo and she says that when she boils water on her stovetop her microwave handle etc. gets so hot she can't use it. Frankly, I am not in love with the idea of putting a microwave over the stove, but I have a small kitchen with very limited options. What are people's experiences with this? We have a gas stove, if that matters. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!
