is this a laminate tile? If so, who is the manufacturer?

If you google Columbia Cascade Clic you will find sellers and yes it is a laminate tile, so easy to install , my husband installed in 1600 sq. ft in our home in 21/2 days. Our color is mountain mist but it is available in other colors.

If you can't match your hardwood exactly then let the kitchen floor be its own thing. Like, you wouldn't wear a gray suit jacket with gray pants from a different suit, would you? Wear that jacket with blue jeans. I'd go with something like what Patricia suggested. Or maybe even cork.

My husband and I are having this same dilemma. We're not going to redo the kitchen for a few years, but we need to replace the flooring in our living room, hallway, and elsewhere. In the future this would need to transition to the kitchen in some way, or be the same as the kitchen. I don't want to end up in your situation where the flooring we pick for the rest of the house isn't available when we go to do the kitchen.

I had the same issue, wondering how our flooring in the kitchen renovation would look with the hardwood floors. But I agree with *jeanstryker* in her above post - let the kitchen floor be its own thing. We did not want ceramic tiles because of the cold feel and how things break so easily when they fall onto ceramic tile. We are very happy with our choice of Congoleum's DuraCeramic. It is what is called a 'luxury vinyl' tile. It looks nice next to the wood floor, is super easy to care for, a perfect choice if you have children and pets. It has been durable, and even a sharp tool dropped on it never damaged it. It is so warm and quiet to walk on. You can choose to leave it ungrouted or grouted. We grouted ours. We get so many compliments. Just be sure your installer follows the installation directions to the tee so it will be trouble free. Good luck on your choice. Our pattern is "Warm Clay". HI -- Have a look at cork flooring . You could get it in a color tone that is close to the wood color .... but do not try to match color .... just get a color that will blend with the wood color . Or their is also "Fiberfloor" in a slate .... slate coloring always looks good against a wood floor . You could also use a wood strip , color matched or a little darker as a transition piece instead of the metal ones .
