stained white vinyl siding beneath the shutters

It was recommended that I remove the shutters and having done so I have brownish stains where they used to be.
Any suggestions on how to clean this unsightly stain???

    Edit: Just read a tip that said to try Magic Eraser. Try it in an inconspicuous spot first just in case. Another tip was good old fashioned steel wool :)
