I agree with Madden, but if you don't want to remove the mirror, try open shelving on the wall opposite the shower. Here's an inspiration image...you get the idea...good luck!!

I'd put the daily stuff in the medicine cabinet. Just get some clear shallow boxes to put stuff in. Meds that you don't use daily can go somewhere else

Low cost - buy a basket for toiletries, store on your closet floor, carry it to the bathroom when needed. They are popular in dorm situations. Not ideal, but will help until you get a permanent solution. You could also put some items in travel size containers that take up less space in the existing cabinet - keeping full size for refilling elsewhere. Also, not ideal, but a work-around. And lastly, keep all medications in the kitchen, so your cabinet only has toiletries.

Open shelving with baskets and jars to hold every day stuff.

I just thought of something my daughter does. She lives in an apartment and the bathroom is very small. She hangs a plastic shoe pocket holder on the back of her bathroom door. Above that is two hooks for towels, so when you shut the door, you don't see the plastic shoe pocket holder filled with bathroom necessities This is so low cost!

This works well also, but you need space behind your door.

It takes me a bit of living in a space before I get everything "just so". I never live in one home the same way I lived in the previous one.

For a temporary solution, if there's room in the linen closet I'd store a basket with my daily accoutrements and just set the basket on top of the tank and re-store when not in use.

For an immediate solution, I love the earlier idea and image of open shelving. Or, if you can relocate that small towel bar - which seems a bit useless abode the commode - find a pretty/funky/clean cabinet and hang it in its place.

Have you considered replacing the pedestal sink with a small vanity? How wide is your sink?

If you have somewhere else to hang the towels, remove the towel bar and put up a small cabinet or linen tower. You can even put up a cabinet with an included towel bar if you really don't have anywhere else to hang towels.

Yes, congrats on your new home :-) for a quick solution, I'd suggest remove the towel holder above the toilet and hang a wall cabinet with open shelving.

Be careful hanging cabinets on the wall - the waste stack (air vent to roof) may go up behind the toilet and you don't want to penetrate it. I guess you'd want to try to find studs anyway, so probably not a problem - but just a little warning.

Bathroom storage is a challenge for everyone! Have you considered a prep area in your bedroom? The biggest trend in storage these days is above the counter storage. Enough already with crowded junk drawers that are impossible to organize! We would add an over the counter storage unit that's clear down to its glossy handles!
