Hi there! I would love to see your FP turned back into the lovely focal point that it should be.

To that end, your TV should not be on top of the FP - especially since it is actually wide for this spot. I'm not sure how wide your TV is, but if it could fit on top of the 48" wide Nicola low shelves from Pier One (shown below), or something similar, it could then go on the right side of your FP. If you have gaming remotes, DVD's and other paraphernalia that need storage, you could use storage bins on the lower shelf to create some more decorative storage.

It looks as if your sofa is oriented to that side, so placing the TV here and moving the computer desk to the left side of the FP makes sense.

This leaves space above the FP for a nice piece of art, and I think you will find the clutter issue starting to let up once you have that decorative feature back.

In addition, it looks like you could use some other creative storage solutions, but it would be helpful if you could post more pics so we can see the entire space.

karemore is right - the TV is too large to put there. If you never use the FP, and you are TV oriented, you might do well to demo the FP and build this room into more of a media space. If you want both, I think the FP should have its own wall and the TV should have the one on the left side of the room. Seating can be oriented to enjoy both, once the clutter is under control.
