Where do you live? Location can dictate plant choice. I think you're off to a good start...soften fence with climbing hydrangea or clematis or roses. If you get lots of sun, you're fortunate so you can plant lots of flowering plants. Add a garden stool or something whimsical for that smile:) I have bright yellow metal pelican sculpture I found at garage sale. He lives in my garden and I love him! I also put in a metal sunflower post...another garage sale find so get " sale-ing!"

Maybe pretty stone around grass area to define it? A small comfy chair to while away the afternoon? Check out BH and G for ideas and have fun!

I would think about changing the pathway from your patio to the shed. I would curve it. Add a tree on the right hand side (small tree) and then under plant with some evergreen shrubs and flowers. On the right had side I would add a taller shrub (evergreen) and obelisk with a vine growing through it mid way and then mimic some of the flowers used on the right hand side.

Just a little more info: I live on the East coast.
