The jabberwocky poem is from Alice Through the Looking Glass. It is an excellent example of how something full of invented words and gibberish can still seem to make a kind of sense if it's written in proper English style. Here's a random fact for you: two of the gibberish words in the poem, invented by Lewis Carroll, are now part of the mainstream English language: "chortle," and "galumph."
