I don't like the color. they really don't work. I'd paint them a deep navy, or a creamy white.

I like set up B, but find a console to put against the wall near window, and your stools underneath,,,like so:

this is the color wood you need. I love this entire set-up with your decor.

They might work well if this was a home school set up for kids, but otherwise they are completely out of place. Your ideabooks have some possibilities.

Any other suggestions on color/finishing? The idea of creamy white sound interesting. All thoughts are really welcome

For the fireplace, we were thinking of a round mirror as the anchor. We though about a large (55"x40") abstract painting in the wall on the right side of the fireplace (which has similar dimensions than the one on the left). We hope this provides balance with the console that will go in the same wall, on the left side of the fireplace. Whould this work?

You'd have to either refinish the tables or change out the chairs. The sofas and tables are contemporary and the chairs , rug and mantel are more traditional.

The mass of the tables is too great for your area. Might be helpful if you could place the tables at right angles to one another.

I like your nesting coffee tables on A pic. And color works great with gray and blue too. You need just bring some the same color accents .

BeverlyFLADeziner , we´d rather refinish the tables (and play with placing). Any suggestion on finishing?

Try painting them a navy or cream color. We think they could definitely work then. Or maybe even try staining them a darker color?
