Range Vent

Does anyone know what company makes the ceiling mounted vent above the range? Does anyone know how effective this type of vent is vs a traditional hood vent or vs downdraft vents?

Being that high up, the vent will not be as effective as an actual hood vent 30-36" above the range . However, some people will tell you that it does provide the ventilation required by building codes and might be good enough to pass an inspection.

Having said that, it's a great looking kitchen, with or without a hood vent! :)
