Here is another example of the the loft I am envisioning

Here is what I was envisioning as the dormer over the loft. The roofline for the dormer is somewhat different

The dormers on the left and right are more my thoughts. For that room it should be as wide as that roof with the roofline being at right angles to the existing roofline. My though is that it creates the vertical space needed for the loft

Here is another example. With this one take the roof of the apparent entranceway and elevate it as the dormer. The sloping roof on either side becomes the walls. My though would be to use a large glass window at the end of the dormer along with a skylights on either or one side of the roof for extra lighting
