W/white perimeter cabinets?
I do like the dark counter & backsplash. 1 challenge is $$ doing granite on both or....finding a darkbacksplash that compliments the counter. Gloss off-white cabinets with Polished Antique Brown granite worktop with a honed Antique Brown granite backsplash under the wall cabinets & a polished Antique Brown granite backsplash behind the hob.
Closer look......more info (Maroon Cohiba????) Leathered granite is a matte finish granite that has texture (the amount of texture usually depends on the minerals in the individual granites). Leathered Antique Brown Granite is a black (then name is a little off) granite that is almost soft to the touch. It still has a good amount of iridescence to it, as you can see in the photos.
“white inset cabinets with espresso stained island. Antique brown leathered granite. Photography by ...” “Todd beautiful kitchen. What is the name and color of the granite countertop” “Where did you get the granite? It looks beautiful” “The granite is leathered. Most shops can treat granites this way. Gives a great textured look.” “It is like most granite. It is recommended to seal” “Leathered Antique Brown is the name of the countertop. Great textured surface.” “seal. I would talk to your granite fabricator to see what they recommend to keep the warranty.”“It is a satin leathered finish with chiseled edges.
Very much like Calacatta Gold. This is caled Calacatta Crestola Marble. Asked for the differences and about price.
Not my colors (mine are warm) but love this pattern # 1 and white/grey/pearl
Not bad......Cost? "Macauba Quartzite Granite" per Jeffrey Waser.
Black River, Silver River Granite - Melinamade Interiors told me the name. This is much prettier than what I found on the internet. I sent it to Kim/SnrEOAA.

Santarossa Mosaic & Tile - Calacatta Gold
Beautiful wood countertop - don't have any info on it.
Emerador marble - reminds me of what we had in Delray....rich/brown-black colors (Delray's were rocks though).
ThinkGlass sells countertops, etc.
One of my favorite backsplash treatments......textured glass. Perhaps can do using tile if can't do in sheet form.....need some answers.
Pryolave......pricey, from France. Offers all the strength of granite w/out any sealing worries and the appearance of glazed pottery. Different. Not my top choice.....I'll take the granite I love any day of the week.
Formica laminate - maybe an option in laundry area.....
More common granite...."Absolute Black"......honed. Less costly, easier to keep clean than "shiney".....and would look nice with the contemporary white shiny cabinetry!
Calacatta GOLD - again. They don't even have to tell me. It is gorgeous. Natural flowing veining - warm and cool tones. Soft, not too busy!
Calacatta Gold marble close up!
Close up of Calacatta used in backsplash.....FYI
Stainless Steel Counters article....
Marble countertop, dominantly white kitchen, red accent, dark wood floor......this kitchen more traditional - but similar otherwise.
I like the "wood look" - in a porcelin material. Where to buy - do you use porcelin tiles"?????
Common black granite with a "flamed" "honed" "brushed" "suaded" finish can make it more interesting - unique.
Glass Tiles - may not be critical if it's glass (.....I'm not sure) in the laundry room. I don't know.....really got to think this one through. But....it's pretty.
8.4.14: Alternative in Laundry Room if ...... 180fx formica laminate - 3460-46 Calcatta Marble (doesn't look tan/gold; more grey) Need to see it. Cheryl talked about today. Here's the Formica laminate Dan recommended. Does look good for a laminate - Spoke to Dolan @ Lowes (.....very knowledgable, has owned his own cabinetry business - wood work expertise)
Stainless Steel - Good Choice in Laundry room but - can be pricey too.
RESIN!!! I didn't know that 3-form MAKES COUNTERTOPS!!! Cost: $28-105. Broad range but need to take closer look.
Bio-Glass. Like. However very pricey. That's a killer.
IceStone - recycled glass Cost $40-54 sf
Recycled Paper - Limits on heat (350 degrees). Not a problem in Office/Laundry - Cost: $18-30 (eh).
Butcher Block......(Cost $30-85sf)
Wood...pretty but need to consider water impact and cost for starters.
Ecofriendly (yea.....so? What are the Pros/Cons ....and Cost) Wood (maybe), crushed glass(maybe) Cement(maybe) ....Stainless Steel?.....
