Nice clean style. You could paint the wainscoting on your island a nice brown. I suggest complimenting or matching one of the brown tones in your new flooring. I'm really thinking a nice buttery yellow would be beautiful in your kitchen and family room. In the family room, especially, it would brighten up the space.

Not for your home, but I love the look of the blonde wood cabinets. Wood is trending strong right now but its very difficult (if not impossible) to change the natural colors of yellow or red oak.

Another example with all white with dark counters and floors. I do enjoy the glass doors on each side of the sink (I did this). It breaks up the monotomy of the white. One other comment, white cabinets are particularly difficult with kids.
