Even with all cabinets (both upper and lower) in white, I love the island being Blue - The same countertops connect it all. In my case, I'd want a dark gray (more neutral - I can always add color in things which can be re;laced inexpensively) such as towels centerpieces, canisters, & art. I also love the touches of black in the 2 pendant lights over the island and the faucet. Both of these elements are neutral & can always work with any colors.

I like this but in my home, I'd want it just the opposite: White upper cabinets and a gray island and lower cabinets with wood shelves & window treatments to match my blonde ale floors & current alder wood bar stools. I'd add some touches of black - dark new faucet w/removable sprayer new pendant lights over island w/touch of black & brass, brass hardware on all cabinets (I already have it) & stainless under mount sink w/same shape as my current sink. Counter tops would be marble-look quartz with veining similar to our new bath (not real busy)

I like the window treatments, the wood floating shelves, the farmhouse sink, what appears to be a drop-in range (but maybe freestanding) and the hood overtop, & 0f course wood floors (in my case blonde ale/birch vinyl planks) along with touches of black & stainless appliances.

I like this shade of gray island. Also like the wood touches. No beams in my kitchen but my white shelf could change to a thicker wood version along with a couple of other wood elements in the room.

I love the quartz (marble-look) countertop

This homeowner likes marble but not theexpense or upkeep of it - so she chose quartz that mimics the veining & striations of marble. (My idea precisely!)
