The stones are tumbled bluestone and they are thick (average about 2-3") and heavy so once set, they do not move at all. They are not the usual patio flagstone, but are intended to be stepping stones. They have soft, rounded edges.I've found that 3/4" gravel can be blown to get even small debris out - just need the right angle to avoid blowing the gravel too.
