an interesting way of handling the above and surround...kind of a shaker/craftsman/farmhouse/rustic feel....we could consider handling like this as well and tie in cabinet colours (so wood panels or trim coloured, or wall coloured) and just have a shaker/craftsman stlyed plain-ish cap so it's not all the way up our vaulted wall. could consider no hearth, or smaller one for a more streamlined look

interesting how they incorporated and neutralized chimney all the way to the top of the vaulted ceiling, dont mind that the mantle is heavy enough to have the supports below, its not just floating mantle
