Integrity Design + Build

Thanks to Integrity I now have new windows and siding on my home in Charlottesville. My home looks beautiful and I am very pleased. I searched for a year to find a contractor to do this work, until I came upon Integrity. John provided an estimate that the company stuck to. There were no surprises. Project manager, Rob, was very professional and did a great job of communicating with me promptly to answer any of my questions. The workers were very thorough and professional and Rob checked in daily to ensure the quality of the work. Integrity went above and beyond to meet the terms of the contract. I liked the fact that they had a portal to assist in the communication and payment process. I would definitely use the company for future home improvement projects.

WARNING - be careful using this company! Not sure where to start, but this company cannot handle large projects and they completely failed in the renovation of my house and cottage. They gladly took on my requirement in Jan 2020 and it was their biggest paying job they had. You would think they would rally around that and make sure that schedule, cost, quality, and communication were on point. Didn't happen. At all. They don't use schedules, they don't inspect for quality, and communication is non existent. I insisted on having weekly meetings because otherwise they wouldn't communicate with me. I would just get invoices out of the blue for work that wasn't complete. I was also their quality control. They didn't check their subcontractors work and then would get annoyed when I pointed out issues. I had about 6 PMs over the past 16 months. The original salesman turned into the first PM then went dark. Two other PMs took over after I questioned who was in charge and they both failed miserably. They brought in two new ones who started strong with good communication and then they quickly fizzled too. The owner then decided to PM after waking up from 6 months of being MIA and that was only after I threatened to cancel the contract. I would think the owner would want to make sure his biggest client was happy but obviously that wasn't the case and it permeated throughout the company. The cottage was supposed to be done May 2020. The main house, August 2020. I'm writing this on 4/6/2021. They just finished the cottage (10 months late) and the main house is far from done (almost 8 months and counting). I terminated the contract today and it feels so good. I brought in two painting companies to inspect the kitchen cabinets that need to be redone (for the 4th time) and they both commented on the poor job Integrity did on them. Let me just say they thought using pray paint out of a can was a good idea for the cabinets. I'll be filing a complaint to DPOR this week and if they don't reimburse me for some items they've damaged I'll be taking them to small claims court. These builders were horrible. Had them refinish my basement. They were over 3 months late finishing the project and did a poor finishing job. They were very unorganized and did not efficiently use the online system they said they would update. Now, almost a year later, they are demanding that I owe them more money (saying they found an accounting error after auditing my account). I would not recommend. This company lacks integrity!

Based on some of the work they've done, it would have been nice for Integrity to refinish an area in my home. I had an walk-through with their project manager Howie within a few days of calling, and he seemed to be responsive, organized, and generally to have his act together. He promised to write up a proposal for the job. And then I waited, called, emailed, and waited some more. Only response I received was an apology a month in that my notes had gotten caught up in email, but promised to put it together within the next month. And then I waited, called, waited, two more emails. No further response. Two months into it, I finally went with another contractor that managed to communicate and put together a contract. A pity, it was a big job and would have been lucrative.

John, Ray and team did an excellent job finishing our basement according to our exact specifications. They were patient, thorough and completed the project in a timely manner. Highly recommended!

Great quality work! We did a cover deck with trex flooring and round columns. Easy to work with and very happy with the finished project. They were flexible and able to provide solutions or answers to our concerns.

I hired this company to fill in with some sheet rock work when my husband was remodeling my kitchen / living room. It was a big job and he wanted someone who could do the job quickly and professionally. 1. they were available when i needed them 2. they were courteous and timely 3.they were flexible and worked within our schedule 4 their fees were fair 5. the person they sent was pleasant and professional Would and probably will use them again with the next project.
