Including the new air conditioning system we installed, the removal of existing tile and installation of approx. 2,000 SF of rectified wood plank tile, bathroom tile installation, pop corn removal, quartz counter tops, and electrical work, the value of the painting work amounted to LESS than 10% of the value you hired us to do. However, you fail to include in your derogatory comments any praise for all of the work we did. Including moving your furniture back and forth!
Regarding the painting, which you now bring up, on February 6 of 2016 (over 15 months ago!) I sent you the following via email:
"It's obvious that no matter how many men or days we spend working at your place that we will never meet your expectations, however unreal they are, regarding the finish of the walls painted. Besides the initial time, materials, and labor dedicated to your home under our original scope of work, my men returned to your home for an additional 3 days to address the countless blue tape markings you had on the wall. You indicated to Alfredo, my painter, that you were satisfied at that time. Now you insist that more work needs to be done.
It is also clear that you do not want to pay the balance for the ADDITIONAL electrical work that was done.
At this time, I will consider our business concluded. Keep the $1,000 you owe and be well.."
Now, 15 months later, you attempt to discredit our work and tarnish my reputation by your unfounded comments. For three days back in January of last year, I had a full crew there taking care of all the "issues" you had with the intention of making sure you were another satisfied customer. We concluded our "touch up" work, and sent you the final bill. After 5 weeks of trying to collect the final balance for the additional work we did, I sent you that email as it was obvious you just did not want to pay.
Your assertion that we dripped paint over the new cabinets is NOT true since we were finished with our work prior to your cabinet crew came in to install them.
I try to do well by my customers on EVERY project, and try to work with my clients to resolve any issues no matter how difficult they become. In your case I know that we tried and my conscious is clear, but you're just one customer I don't think anybody could please. I'm sure that for the $1,000 you never paid me you can find a painter to repaint the walls you think are so awful. (For you readers who got this far, the TOTAL value of the painting scope was $4,500 including
1.Sand down stair railing and paint white with oil based paint
2.Paint (2) coats interior walls (except bathrooms) in standard Sherwin Williams, or comparable, paint
3.Prime and paint baseboards
4.Paint existing door casing and doors
5.Paint ceilings

Although it is true that your job had many delays, they were NOT my doing. Your house had many code irregularities that had to be rectified BEFORE the permit could be issued and work started. For instance things like an outdated site plan which you provided me with wrong information about the fence, and the A/C system having been installed without permits PRIOR to me getting involved in your project.
I put numerous hours of my time and trips to the building department going to bat you in order to meet with a plan reviewer or code enforcement official. Time that I did not bill you for and which quite frankly was not in my scope of work.
I addition, I repaired and poured a new slab for you, which was NOT part of our scope of work either, but which we did in order to leave your place in a better shape than we found it. I ended up replacing most of the ceiling drywall in your kitchen because Curtis, your husband, asked to do so as well. Issues that were inspected by the city and approved, but which did not meet your husband's expectations were also taken care of, like the stucco finish on the soffits.
Like with any other renovation jobs, we may have had a day or two delay by issues brought up by a city inspector, but those were also rectified right away. All along we treated your house with respect and I believe we conducted ourselves in a professional manner.
I am offended by your review and quite frankly by your rating. I could understand a 1 star review had I not finished the job, walked out of it, or done shoddy work. But your additional came out beautiful and your home is better now than when I started work there.
