Brooks Home Renovations

We hired Brooks Home Renovations to do a remodel of 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, install new interior doors, some trim work, and a special project for the laundry room. We did substantial research prior to hiring them and read as many reviews as we could find online. Unfortunately, their work and management was nothing like what was advertised. We experienced many issues and they appeared from the start. These issues include but are not limited to the following: -Assigning/hiring qualified people for the given tasks of the project -Communication/scheduling workers to the worksite. There were days and weeks at a time that no work was done. -Product quality issues such as doors needed to be sent back multiple times and in the end, still weren't right. -New floors in both bathrooms having parts ripped up and relaid due to installation error. -Wrong measurements of both showers resulting in buildout of walls to existing walls. -Poor painting and drywall work. -Mishandling of custom piece for laundry room project resulting in us having to redo the majority of it ourselves. -Incorrect size strike plates on new doors that we had to replace due to the fact that they were hitting new trim. -Bathroom ductwork made of shiny tape and cardboard. We would like to note here that it is customary and also in the contract to have a final walkthrough to note and discuss the finished project and to address any concerns. We were not given the opportunity. In addition the these quality control issues, there were significant failures in the management of our project and their customer service when these issues were addressed. There was no real responsibility taken for the issues and when the issues were addressed, the response from management and owner were very often borderline hostile and combative and seemed to be placing blame on us. Additionally, our project started in mid January and was supposed to be inhabitable by March 1st. It wasn't and their timeline went months past what we were told due to their own in-house delays. Given that we were out of the house for a month and a half for them to be completely unhindered for this project, we were completely taken aback time and time again by their responses to our frustration with constant time delays. Management stated that these issues were not normal or usual and that our project was a "perfect storm" of events. While we appreciate that they acknowledged the situation, they really did nothing to actively rectify or prevent similar problems from arising during the rest of the project. With all of this, we had to cover additional cost in both time and money due to the mistakes made by this company, many of which could have been avoided if there had been proper communication and management from the beginning. So for these reasons and many more, we would NOT recommend this company. We did not receive the services, workmanship, or the attention to detail as promised.

We hired Brooks Home Renovations to replace our existing deck with a screen porch and to replace our roof. It required a lot of work because our deck was not covered and they needed to incorporate the porch roof into our existing roof. We had several bids which were more than twice what we had budgeted for the project. We had pretty much given up on the idea when we received Brooks' bid, which was much more in line with what we were thinking. I met with Brooks' to go over the project about four times before they began. Brooks gave us a start date and they were there that morning before 8:00. They thought they would be able to complete the project in two weeks. It did take them three weeks, but part of the reason was weather and part of the reason was they needed to make some changes due to the inspector's additions. Working with Brooks' employees was great. We were really excited about the passion they had for our project. They also took great pride in their work. They were there when they said they would be, they answered my questions without making feel stupid, and they were very friendly. When we couldn't decide what materials to use on the ceiling of the porch and the wall going into the house, they gave us some options which was very helpful and look amazing. Other than the change due to the inspector, they came in right on budget. There were no surprises. The porch turned out beautiful, we couldn't be happier, and it is exactly what we wanted. I would definitely hire them again and I have already recommended them to several friends.

Brooks Did a great job with our remodel. They listened to what we wanted or needed and went out of their way when unexpected things came up. I will ask them to do my next project.

We've done several renovations with BHR and they do very quality work! We have done large whole house renovations with them as well as small kitchen and bath updates, they can do any project!

We hired Brooks Home Renovations to remodel our 25 year old kitchen and transform our mud room into a laundry room. All of the employees were responsible, respectful, hard-working, professional and efficient. Our remodel turned out beautiful! We painted our oak cabinets white, removed the soffits and the soffit lighting. Brooks custom made a large cabinet, wine rack, drawer pedestal and decorative shelves. They scraped the popcorn ceiling, installed a new backsplash (including a herringbone design behind our range). They replaced 3 cabinets so that we could stagger the cabinets and have a glass door lighted cabinet, added crown molding, recessed lighting, under cabinet lighting, above cabinet hidden lighting and arranged for new hickory hardwood floors. They installed LVT floors in the kitchen and laundry. Brook Home Renovations stands behind their work. We would definitely recommend Brooks Home Renovations for your next remodel.

All employees were very easy to work with! They assist wirh vendors to use and recommended products to use. Sub-contractors were great to work with! Worked with our schedule. Only recommendation i have would be more communication.
