Kenneth has a great eye, is responsive to the client's concerns, and is overall a pleasure to deal with. We are nothing but delighted with the result of our renovation. Some custom items are especially well done (cabinetry, doors). Very few punch list items at end. Project ran long and cost more than expected. As with every renovation. Overall, highly recommended.

I have worked with Kenneth Young of Nicholson Blunt 3 times - which says something right there, doesn't it. Each time I found the process and resullt more than I expected. I felt like my opinions and needs in each case were taken seriously and every effort was made to give me what I wanted. Although we did have different opinions at times, I never thougth I was being pushed into something I really didn't want or that he was reluctantly giving in to a "bad Idea". It was a great collaboration. I love my house and I feel a great part of that is because of Kenneth Young.

The company owner and principal designer Kenneth Young is a highly talented individual with a very clear design vision. Not only that, but originally a boat builder and later a general contractor he understands wood intimately as well as any other material you can think of, poured concrete, stainless steel, cable railing, tile and stone. You name it, he's likely worked with it personally. During our gut renovation and soup to nuts redesign of our Mill Valley, CA home we called on his expert opinion spanning all these materials over our new bathrooms, remodeled custom kitchen, redesigned roof and eve and practically everything else. Kenneth acted as our architect, interior designer, color consultant as well as consulting on project management and selection of materials. The project has been a fantastic success. Well, let me qualify, it cost more and took longer than we expected, but that wasn't his fault, I kept insisting on upgrades! The important thing is the place looks fantastic, unique and stylish. I would highly recommend Kenneth and his team for any home renovation or restoration where cutting edge design, unique vision and artistic flair are your goal.

We hired Nicholson Blunt to create a guest house out of an existing building on our property. The space was an empty shell with almost no windows, a large roll-up door, and mechanicals in various places. The high ceilings were not quite tall enough to accommodate two stories. Proving that challenges stimulate creativity, Nicholson Blunt came up with a plan. They added post and beam details and staircases that activated the large cube, anchored the room with a beautiful fireplace, and created rooms with storage spaces on 2 levels. Perhaps the most impressive (but invisible) achievement was moving and replacing all the mechanicals through ingenious duct work. They also provided landscaping to create parking outside of the new guest house. From mechanicals to design to beautiful details, Nicholson Blunt did it all, and within the budget we agreed to!

Nicholson Blunt provided a wide range of talents in helping us design & build our house. We were newbies & they helped with every stage of the project; they even were the general contractor for our job. We get lots of compliments on the design, it's well built, most importantly, we still love it. They made the sometimes difficult & stressful task of designing & building a house a real joy. Their strengths are: really listening, experience, & an upbeat, positive attitude. They had excellent relationships with the subs, (which is very important in that location) the project came in on budget, and they have continued to help us with the maintenance of our house. I highly recommend them.

Simply fantastic. This is the second major renovation that Nicholson Blunt have completed for me and I have the highest possible recommendation. The first reno - about nine years ago - still looks as good as it did at move-in (despite the best efforts of my two sons and two dogs), and the second, recently completed, exceeds my greatest dreams. Kenneth is a pleasure to work with: brilliant, thoughtful, entertaining, extremely knowledgeable and creative. I recently staged a vacant spec house designed and built by Kenneth of Nicholson Blunt LLC. It was a sincere pleasure and honor to work with Kenneth on this project. The house was beautifully constructed, the materials he chose really shined within a brilliant layout. I endeavored to bring in furniture of the same high caliber. Kenneth's building was luxurious and yet comfortable, modern yet natural, bright and airy, so inspiring that I didn't want to leave when the job was done. Working with Kenneth was easy and enjoyable. He is a serious pro and true artist. I can't recommend Nicholson Blunt enough!!!
