When we first considered finishing our basement, I asked around of some other trade professionals about who they had worked with before and who they would recommend. What I heard was: "Well if I was finishing my basement, I would call Carlos Rivera at Homework Construction". I asked why. To paraphrase the response: " The first thing is he comes in and gets the job done- he does not stretch it out over months like many others; second, he does quality work at a reasonable price; and third he knows how to stay within a budget that you give him for the project." About a year after first inquiring, we got serious about the basement. I though about doing it myself since I'm kind of handy and kind of cheap. I asked again, "who would you use?" Same answer. No reservations. We met with Carlos and I could immediately tell the man knew his business. He finished our entire basement. He used union trained professionals for the electric and plumbing and did just about everything else himself. he had good contacts with granite, flooring and appliance installers that were much better than we would have found on my own. Overall the cost of our basement build-out was around $70k. I have no doubt a similar build out from another company would have easily cost at least 20% more. Further, we actually like the basement build out better than the first floor. We have since used Homework Construction for several other projects, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. We have also been considering installing a covered deck on the back of our house. If we do so I would not bother getting a quote from others. Recommended without reservation. Carlo Rivera is a dream for an out of town landlord. He painted and brought my rental house up to code in a very timely matter. Most communication was done by email which I much appreciated. I would recommend only Carlos to one looking to have their house done.

Homework is a highly qualified and talented construction company. They have a particular expertise in older homes that have their own set of construction problems. They are adaptable and have the creative ability to handle any type of repair. Their ability to create house paint color schemes is outstanding. I doubt that there is any situation that they are unable to handle. As an old house owner, we are often in need of repairs and I will use Homework for future projects.

Carlos designed and constructed a porch that is attached to my house. He also has constructed a new kitchen at my Sister In Laws house. We both are very pleased with his work and would recommend him to anyone that needs help doing these projects!

Carlos was kind enough to give me two estimates - one for finishing a basement and the other was for remodeling a house that we were considering purchasing. I appreciated how thorough, knowledgable and forthcoming he was in his estimates, He was was able to quickly assess things and give us the gist, which allowed us to make informed decisions about our investments. In the end, we purchased a newer home, and have not needed to actually hire Carlos. For this reason, I can only give him 4 stars out of 5.

I am very happy with the work that was done by Homework Construction. They did everything on my house, a total renovation. From the wood floors to the ceilings, the work was done with care.

Homework helped restore our 1903 home's porch, roof, and gutters to its original state. My wife and I were absolutely pleased by their work and their service. Homework Construction does great work at a reasonable price and in a timely manner. I have a woodworking business and have worked with them on several projects. I have never heard of an unhappy customer of theirs.
