Greater Seattle Landscape Design Build & Maintenance 15X Best of Houzz

Landscape design, build and maintenance across the Eastside, north Seattle and south Snohomish County. Family owned, working here since 1985. 15X Best of Houzz. We do three kinds of work, for residential and commercial customers. Design and build rebuilds a property or a large part of one, covering hardscape, planting, irrigation, lighting, drainage and carpentry, with one team on it from first walk-through to final grade. Enhancements are the smaller projects and the seasonal work, like a spring or fall cleanup, seasonal pruning, mulching, a planting bed refresh, a patio, or a drainage fix. Maintenance keeps a property on a scheduled visit year round for pruning, bed care, lawn care, leaf cleanup, and irrigation startup and winterization. There is no project minimum. What separates an enhancement from a build is scope, not price. On-site meetings and estimates are complimentary. We started as a nursery, so you can see the plants before the work starts rather than picking them off a plan. Every plant we install carries a one-year warranty where the landscape has a working automatic irrigation system, because that is what carries new plants through a dry August. If a plant doesn't establish, we replace it. Our work has taken Grand Awards and Awards of Distinction from the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals, and gold medals at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show, including La Palabra Pintada, a garden built with author and artist Nick Bantock. Projects have been featured in Pacific Magazine, the LA Times Magazine, NW Home+Garden and American Home. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Highly recommended! Classic Nursery did a complete overhaul of my backyard in suburban Redmond, and I absolutely love it! Landscape Designer Alan Burke created a lovely patio for me to gather with friends around a fire pit, a separate area with a cedar bench for my own end-of-day reflection, a flower cutting garden, and – most importantly – a dog-friendly yard that will hold up with my Golden Retriever and an active visiting Husky. I had used Classic 8 years ago to redo my front yard and have been enormously pleased as it has grown and flourished. When redoing my backyard, I got bids from 5 companies, but selected Classic since Alan was the one who really caught the vision for what I wanted. He was good to work with: responsive, professional, creative with design, and a good listener. At the conclusion of the project he taught me how to care for the new plants. He kept within my budget, using many existing plant materials (transplanting some) and overstock pavers. Nursery Manager Don Rosebrook went the extra mile with plant selection, guiding me to trees, shrubs, and flowers that were within my color palette and style. He even checked all the plant offerings to ensure that they were non-toxic for dogs. A big shout-out goes to Omar for his commitment to quality work with the hardscape. The patio, retaining wall, and cobble-lined paths are perfect. He has a gentle eye for beauty, such as putting a pretty, sparkling piece of flagstone in the center of an area and placing the river cobble in a graceful line. I highly recommend Classic Nursery and their competent staff. For those of you with dogs, the elements that Alan provided include: an open area along the fence for running and “protecting,” a cool, shady place for warm days, pet barrier fencing around the cutting garden, plant materials that can withstand trampling, sturdy trees to provide color, a wide circle of large rocks to protect from digging around a vulnerable fir tree, and a focus on hardscape (patio, gravel paths, river cobble) rather than lawn or ground cover.

Devin and her team helped us create a true outdoor living space that is functional and aesthetic. Don was so knowledgeable about the plant recommendation. Classic Nursery was awesome transforming our backyard of weeds, overgrown shrubs and aging wood retaining wall into a beautifully sculpted landscape. Our project consisted of expanding the useable space by replacing an old two-tiered rock planting area with one wall of beautiful new rock that extended around the yard replacing an old retaining wall. With new plants and flagstone walkway the yard was ready for a putting green to be provided by Synthetic Turf NW. The end result is magnificent, providing an idyllic oasis for fun and relaxation. Classic Nursery (Elena) was key to the success of the project by providing overall project management and ensuring completion of activities on schedule. She was a pleasure to work with and easily adapted to my multiple requests throughout the project. The crews performing the work were all professional and easy to work with. Both foremen (Hugo and Brandon) ensured quality work and were responsive to my inputs along the way. I highly recommend Classic Nursery for a large project like mine where multiple things need to be coordinated and adherence to schedule is important. Thanks to everyone on the team that helped bring our vision to reality.

Highly recommend Classic! Elena (our project manager and landscape designer) was very professional. She was responsive, quickly answered our numerous questions, and put together a beautiful design. Even though we were a relatively small project (4-day project), the folks at Classic never made us feel like we were less of a priority than their bigger, more expensive projects. Our backyard turned out absolutely beautiful. They took down an existing retaining wall, which was a major eyesore, and replaced it with much more attractive material. They also built a small patio in the corner of our yard and planted a beautiful variety of plants around the patio. We love our backyard and plan to hire Classic again for future projects.

Classic Nursery just wrapped up a 3+ week landscape renovation project for my Issaquah home. I was in communication with Alan, the landscape designer, starting in 2017 and finally decided to move forward with this extensive project. Alan is patient, knowledgeable, responsive and full of experience that he brings to his projects. With very few revisions, I went with the landscape design which included a new flagstone patio for a fire pit, dry-streambed treatments around the property, 14 light installations and a water fountain feature at the entryway. Hugo was the foreman for the job and was on-time, knowledgeable, great with communication and made changes quickly as he and I translated the landscape design sketch into reality. At the nursery Don was patient, knowledgeable and listened well to understand what plantings I wanted and would do well around my home. I purchased 20+ different shrubs and plants and Don was friendly in showing me around the nursery and indicating what I might like. I can't say enough positive things about Classic Nursery. I will definitely be referring others to them and giving them more business as I continue to invest in my outdoor spaces.

First, we are repeat customers of Classic Nursery, and we highly recommend their services! They did a patio project for us several years ago that we were impressed with, so we called on them again to design and build a small courtyard behind the house. This project required excavation and the building of a retaining wall. Working with Alan was a smooth and professional experience. He and his crew worked well together. The crew was hard working and the work was always completed on the agreed upon schedule. Alan did a great job of being responsive to us throughout the project by answering any questions we had. Classic Nursery has been in business for many years and their experience was very much appreciated. We also appreciated the help we received from Don at Classic's garden center. He was knowledgeable about the plants and was a pleasure to work with in that regard. One last note is that Classic took Covid safety precautions seriously, as you would expect. Thank you Alan and crew for the great work! We're very happy with our new outdoor space. We look forward to watching our new plants grow in the spring and enjoying our courtyard!

I cannot say this enough: Alan and his team were absolutely superb. We had a fairly complicated project of removing concrete, and redesigning a front patio, in addition to landscaping our entire front year area, and the curbside gardens. I am not at all artsy or good with this stuff; so with very vague guidance from me, they were able to turn the place into a wonderful garden, and patio. The stones were meticulously and expertly placed, and the final product was amazing. It's night and day from what it was before. We've received lots of compliments. Along the way they were great at communication and customer service. You're paying for quality, communication, responsiveness, and a personal touch. I highly recommend.

Alan Burke and the rest of the staff and crew at Classic Nursery and Landscaping are really good at their job. They are professional, competent and accountable. From the start, Alan was upfront and honest about what could and could not be done according to our budget. He was helpful in guiding us from the vision of what we wanted to a finished set of plans. He was also very patient when we were having trouble making decisions regarding plants, seeded grass vs. sod and whether to install irrigation or not. He offered sound advice to help us make these decisions when needed. This was very much appreciated as my wife and I invested quite of bit of money in the project. At times we were stuck, so to speak, because we were concerned about how the yard would look versus how much money we were spending. The end result was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We had a two phase project that included the installation of a drainage system, paver patio, garden beds, a retaining wall (that matched our other retaining wall perfectly), new sod, various shrubs, a fruit tree and the leveling of a sloping yard. It is now awesome. The crews that did the actual hard labor were also fantastic. They worked hard and fast. Were polite and took the time to address our questions. They also left our property clean and tidy at the end of each work day. As I’m sure you are doing, my wife and I did lots of research to find of a company to hire for our project. We have no regrets. Classic Nursery and Landscaping is top notch.

The short version: Classic Nursery and Landscape did a great job renovating and enhancing our yard. I couldn't recommend them more highly. The details: We were working with a landscape design/build company which closed without warning – in the middle of our yard renovation project, having gone through all of our original budget and then some, and leaving us with a ratty-looking yard and a carport full of crushed rock. Classic cleared out our shrubbery jungle, leaving carefully pruned plants (including some I had forgotten were there). They constructed a wheelchair-accessible path around our backyard, and built a new water feature. Then they brought in beautiful new plants. They did more in 3 weeks than our previous landscape company did in 2 years. Alan was a pleasure to work with, professional and cordial. He responded promptly to every query. The project got done when he said it would be done, and it cost what he said it would cost. The landscape crew was great; knowledgeable and industrious. They accomplished an amazing amount of work in a very short time. Fred worked hard to get our water feature just right, and the results justify the effort he put into it. Our visit to Don Rosebrook at the nursery might've been the highlight of the project. I couldn't get my wheelchair into the greenhouse to see our new plants (probably just as well – I might still be there!), so he kindly brought them out where we could meet them. He even brought out several alternative possibilities for us to consider. It was well worth the trip out to Woodinville. I know our new landscape will look better every year, but this first year it will be particularly exciting to watch our new plants wake up in the spring. I can hardly wait!

Three years ago, my husband and I decided to have landscape work done at our home. We met with Alan, walk the yard, discussed alternatives, and ideas to achieve our vision of the project. He gave us many ideas on how to best proceed, and then provided a preliminary drawing including an itemized cost sheet to review. After a few changes, we were ready to sign a contract and schedule the work. There were two phases for the project, demolition and installation. The demolition included removing old sod, existing overgrown shrubs, and preparing the grounds and plant beds for the next phase. The installation consisted of a small paver patio, new sod, new plants, a crushed rock walkway, bark, and small amount of drainage work. Alan and his work crew arrived at our home on the appointed day to begin. Throughout our project we were impressed with the pride and work ethic reflected in their workmanship and they were a pleasure to work with. Alan checked in several times over the course of the project. We also were put in contact with staff at the nursery regarding plant selection. We were not disappointed in the finished product! I was familiar with Classic Nursery & Landscape Company and the talented owner/designer, Alan Burke. He is very knowledgeable, easy going, and a pleasure to work with. Throughout the project he made himself available to answer questions and was patient with our few changes. All and all the experience was special and a delight. So, after three years how are things looking? Pretty good! Some plants have outgrown their place, and will need transplanting. And I have a few more ideas I’m going to need help with. I’ll be in touch with Alan and Classic Nursery again, soon!

Ours was a large project that rapidly doubled in size, extensive paving, outdoor fireplace, water feature, planting of trees and it was all handled very well with no significant delays. A big thank you to Alan for his skill in planning and design. We would also like to thank Alan for his communication skills and ability to listen to us and understand elements important to us in the overall scope of the project. No big home project goes forward without some errors or issues, but any bumps on our projects were dealt with transparently, promptly and professionally. Would also like to mention the crews worked hard and showed competence in their projects, we were pleased. For those of you who have contracted big home renovation projects or outdoor projects that take a long time to complete, you know home project fatigue can set in. Alan kept the lines of communication open, always responded promptly and we always felt confident and positive in the work. I think the people of classic nursery seek to excel . They certainly succeeded on my property, my family, friends and neighbors all love the finished work and we are enjoying it all. Now we need to do something about that circle in the front yard, Alan, and thinking about creating a small orchard area :)

This was a big job that included planting of trees, shrubs and perennials, adding rock accents including a rock path, reshaping and reseeding of the lawn areas, readjustment of sprinkler system and addition of a new sprinkler zone. Classic Nursery is knowledgeable about PNW plants, easy to work with/collaborative with what we wanted, professional throughout, very responsive to questions. They work solidly as a team from designer, planner, nursery staff, irrigation specialists, work crew, and office staff. We would hands down call them again if we needed any landscape work.

It seems that most contractors don't seem to have time to answer their phones or emails any more, so it is refreshing that Alan always replies quickly even on weekends. The project we hired them for included full renovation of the landscaping at our 6 acre condominium site. This includes a documented 3 year plan for removal of a significant amount of dying or diseased shrubs and trees, adding fill soil where needed. Replant with a variety of plant materials to provide year-round color and interest, mulching, renovating the lawn and more. We are thrilled! This is a $160k project and none of the other companies we tried to work with came even close to doing the design and plan that Classic has done. Alan and his team are terrific to work with and we are looking forward to a long-term relationship with them.

Classic Nursery & Landscape Co exceeded our expectations! We hired them for our backyard, it was just a sloped dirt hill and we wanted it leveled & have half lawn/half pavement put in for our toddler son to play. We didn't think it was possible but OMG, they did such a fabulous job. It looks gorgeous!!! The crew, led by Hugo were Eric, Omar, Jose & Carlos and they worked so hard each day. They even cleaned up after themselves each day including the street, our neighbors took notice. Alan, the owner was so professional, flexible & accommodating and was really good to work with, very personable and nice. He had great ideas and gave suggestions and opinions where needed. We had our walk-thru yesterday and he jotted down a few minor things that they'd take care of. He even bought a bag of gifts like hose, garden book, etc. and marked down the pages of the plantings that we have to well maintain them. Who does that? No contractors have ever done that - so professional! We noticed how Alan stopped by occasionally to make sure everything is going smoothly. He also had suggestions on where to place certain plants/trees so they wouldn't get too much sun. We were so pleased with the finished work, we decided to hire them for our front yard as well. With a major project like what we had, it was risky but Classic Nursery proved they were trustworthy and indeed the BEST landscaping company around (as voted in magazines & websites). I got several bids for a 1400sq foot project and selected Classic Nursery, not because they were there cheapest but because of the reviews is read about them and the very organized approach. I had to wait two months from the time I signed and provided a deposit to the start date. It was worth the wait. They've exceeded my expectations. My yard looks phenomenal. I had a two hour appointment with Don at the nursery to select my plants and ask a plethora of questions. Truly awesome!

Alan and his team (Josh / Jose / Derrick) were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Alan came out promptly to take a look at our yard and the area we wanted fixed, and had great suggestions for additional improvements. We ended up hiring him to replant a slope area, clean out and replace a large front planter and add landscape lighting. Everything exceeded our expectations! The crew was extremely polite, thorough and helpful. Our house was left clean every day, there was clear communication, and every member of the team had a high personal standard of care. They did it right - period. Classic stayed on budget and made sure we were happy with the results. Classic Nursery did a complete renovation of the front entrance to our neighborhood. We worked specifically with Wan-Chi and she was SUPER! She offered design expertise/options, met with us at the nursery to finalize selection of shrubs/plants, supervised the on-site installation work and then followed up several times to make sure we were watering correctly and to see if there were any issues. Out of 40+ plants/shrubs planted, we have not lost a single one! Wan-Chi's professionalism and attention to detail was really appreciated. She was awesome to work with!

Classic Nursery & Landscape/Alan Burke completed a landscape project for our Seattle home and we couldn't be happier with the result! My husband and I highly recommend them and we plan on using their services in the future. Here are some of the highlights from our experience and why we suggest using them: - Amazing communication and professionalism throughout the entire project - Highly qualified team of people who work for Classic. Everyone we interacted with was awesome. From the owner Alan, the Landscape Designer, the folks at the nursery who select the plants and the crew who execute the project -- all very talented, customer service focused and hard working folks. - Attention to detail and respect for our property. I was consistently impressed by how clean they left the work site. Every day upon completion the crew cleaned up and made sure there wasn't debris all over the sidewalk etc. - The end result is gorgeous! All the neighbors stopped to look and comment on our new landscaping and accused us of raising their property taxes because it looks so darn good! - Three months later and the new plants and new sod are very healthy and thriving! Here's a tip -- you have to WATER!! Watering my plants/grass has become my new hobby! I do it by hand to conserve water. However, one must be committed to watering their new plants and sod. Alan told me that since we used primarily native plant species and grass that will adapt and not require too much water in the long run but initially you have to water a lot, especially during the summer and throughout the next couple of seasons. - The owner Alan was very attentive to our project throughout and when the project completed he did a walk-thru with me to tell me all the things about my new plants. He has been very responsive to questions once the project completed as well. - The Classic Nursery is awesome and the folks who work there are so knowledgeable and helpful! You'd be crazy not to use Classic Nursery and Landscape!!

Please note that this is the same past client that reviewed earlier repeating. This client received a lot from us: a booklet of free literature regarding all the materials, as well as two on-site consultations with a landscape architect, a comprehensive proposal and a revised proposal. She also received a cad presentation plan and a follow-up revised version of the plan. She did not attend our first consultation meeting and at the subsequent meeting presented ideas that were wholly different from those of her husband. These clients signed an installation agreement with us and did a nominal deposit to cover drawing fees and Consultation Services above and beyond the first meeting. This was a mutual agreement and amounted to a few hundred dollars. We offered additional planning and estimating at no additional charge to provide more, budget-based ideas. They declined and then stated that they wanted to have the entire package offered to them at no charge, which we were unwilling to do and was not our mutual agreement. We were never less than professional and tried to keep the conversation cordial, despite her desire to devolve it into acrimony. As I noted in a response prior, this person is likely looking for complementary services and free planning.

I just bought a house recently with a yard that needed a good deal of work. Sam, one of the landscape architects at Classic, did a fantastic job identifying the landscape issues and recommending some great budget-focused fixes. My yard now provides year-round color and interest in a well-thought-out design from the front yard to the back. I could not be more pleased with the work that Alan's company has done in completely transforming the backyard of my town home from an overgrown, plant-filled, unusable space -- to two separate levels of paved patios below my deck -- one level with a beautiful fire pit and the second with a lovely water feature that feels zen-like. Where before we only looked down at the plants, now we are drawn down there -- and it feels wonderful to have taken a smallish backyard area and expanded so that it is not only useable, but also just makes you want to go down and sit and enjoy! Alan's team (led by Hugo and Ken) could not have been more professional. We wanted a new garden on our backyard where we could grow fruit and vegetables, but we had some budget constraints. Alan met with us and we discussed ideas and options, and worked on a plan that not only would work with our budget but would allow for future upgrades. Classic Nursery's team worked hard and efficiently and in no time we had a wonderful space where we could grow our own food. Two years later our garden continues to be very active year-round, we're always enjoying gardening and, of course, the produce. We look forward to working with Classic Nursery on our next project.

Last year we consulted with Alan Burke of Classic Nursery & Landscape Company to help us figure out some solutions for our backyard. After years of battling drainage issues, barren areas and unhappy plants we had finally reached our limit. We also wanted a landscape that would hold its own over the winter instead of turning into remote marshlands. All we can say is we got more than we bargained for. We now have the backyard of our dreams and the envy of our neighbors. For the first time in 8 years, our Teddy Bear Magnolia has flowered, the pond we added is thriving and we get tremendous joy from the fish, frogs (a sign of a healthy ecosystem), waterfalls and water plants. The plants Classic Nursery added are not only suited to our backyard but provide an ongoing range of bloom and color. We also have constant visitors, the likes of hummingbirds, dragon and butterflies. We were extremely happy with the design process, the actual project and now a year later continue to enjoy the beauty of our garden. We highly recommend Classic Nursery.

We had interviewed six landscapers to rework the front yard of our house we bought just over a year prior. I didn't expect to have to talk to this many but until we met Alan with Classic Nursery the personalities just didn't click. I especially liked that he provided details up front even before we signed the contract. Other companies would barely talk to us without a contract. I also appreciated that he provided a list of suggested plants based on our preferences to choose from. When the day came to do the work, the crew spent all day adding new plants, new soil, moving plants around, and adding rocks. They asked questions to make sure they were doing what we wanted. A few times I asked for some changes and they obliged without complaint. Alan came by to look at the job, and again several months later to make sure the plants were still doing well. A couple had died so he replaced them. We ended up adding a few more plants and appreciated the 15% discount of any purchased plants at the Woodenville nursery. We're considering a few smaller projects as well as ongoing maintenance and Classic Nursery is the first call I'll make.

In March of 2014, we hired Classic Nursery and Landscaping to help us create a functional and enjoyable outdoor space on our lot in West Seattle. We decided to hire Mr. Burke based on reviews that we found on multiple websites, and our personal meetings with him. Please allow us to share our experiences to caution any future potential customers of Classic Nursery and Landscaping. From the very beginning, our project was plagued with blatant omissions, oversights, short-cuts and cover-ups. To this day, we, the client, are still trying to rectify the mistakes left behind by Mr Burke and his crew. We felt that there was a serious lack of communication and quality control, and discovered that Mr. Burke’s crew was extremely inexperienced, unqualified, improperly supervised and deceitful. It was an extremely frustrating experience and we are highly disappointed in this company. We understand that mistakes happen during construction, but to intentionally cover up mistake after mistake in hopes that the customer does not notice, that is not OK. It is dishonest. We write this review not as disgruntled customers, but as honest consumers who wish to share our experience with this company. Even though our experience was extremely frustrating, stressful, and disappointing, we tried to maintain an optimistic and positive attitude throughout the process. We even sent Mr Burke the occasional email during the project, thanking his crew for what we thought was a job well done, only to be thoroughly disappointed when short-cuts and cover-ups would surface. The constant and continuous buffoonery of Mr. Burke and his staff actually became quite comical to witness. So we write this review to respectfully provide a warning to the kind reader and to look past the “excellent” customer service and the superficial front of Mr. Burke. If the kind reader is still considering to hire Mr. Burke and Classic Nursery and Landscaping as their landscaping architect/contractor, even after reading this review, we highly encourage you to explore other options.

As our nursery and landscape company has completed thousands of projects in over three decades in business, it is expected that we will have a disgruntled client now and then. Things can go south in construction, as the kind reader will understand. The measure, we feel, when a mistake is made - is in the promptness and thoroughness of the response. In this instance, we DID make three distinct errors; 1. a drainage hookup was done incorrectly, 2. a utility cable was cut by a shovel and 3. we elected to work with this client in the first place. Some folks just cannot work with others, and that appears to be the mutual case here. Rather than trust us to followup, this person always launched into unnecessary anger. With over 30 years in business, I have never had crews tell me they were ‘afraid’ of a client, but that is what happened here on more than one occasion. Even though we provided over $3000 in free planning, services and materials to try to placate this clients unreasonable requests, here we are. This ranting “review” comes after providing yet another full crew day with yet more free materials. Her last email to us stated “insult intended”, but rather than rehash a number of statements that are unjustly acrimonious or false, I have combed through my 140+ emails and 44 site visits to copy out the following text as written to us directly from the client:

“ Wow Alan, that looks great!...Thank you, as always, in taking the time to answer our questions!...Things are really starting to take shape out front with the wall and in the yard in general…The guys have been working really hard...The walls are really looking nice...Everything is really looking great, and Chris and Jason are fantastic!...Lisa and I are so please(d) with the progress thus far. ...The patio looks really nice-we like it a lot....the landing...is a really beautiful flagstone or ledgestone...We look forward to seeing the finished product-it’s really coming together... Lisa...and I are very pleased with how everything turned out...what a transformation!...I didn't get a chance to say thank you for doing such a great job on our landscaping project. You, Jason and the rest of your crew were fantastic...Thanks again Chris. Great job!...I also wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that Lisa and I do appreciate your level of customer service and it has not gone unnoticed...We agree that you have promptly responded and addressed each and every question in a professional manner, and attempted to resolve every concern and situation as quickly as possible.”

After responding a few months ago with the above text, this vindictive client continues to unnecessarily spread misinformation and try to discredit us. We would respectfully ask the reader to consider our other references online here for more honest and reasoned reviews from clients that trusted our company to handle warranty claims and construction changes - and didn't fly off the handle, but simply allowed us to follow up and make things right.

This was an outstanding experience from start to finish. 1) when I called expressing interest, they sent me a questionnaire on email asking me details of what exactly I wanted, what types of plants I liked and disliked, etc. ] 2) Alan Burke the owner, came out to our house, patiently went over the entire yard. He was respectful of my wishes, and that I would have a budget. He gave me a range of options that would fit different budgets, from $3000 to $7000. I wanted to have a complete more mature yard, so I opted for the higher budget. Alan was incredibly responsive by phone, by email. He sent me sketches of his ideas, modified things per my requests, etc. He was really wonderful to work with. I had asked two other companies to submit bids. Both took to insulting the existing landscape so they could "dramatically" change things. They also kept emphasizing that this was going to be quite expensive. One had a bid come in $3000 higher for less work and one hasn't even gotten back to me. These were also fairly highly rated on Angies list. 3) We were able to expeditiously schedule the start of our project. A few days before the start, we went up to the nursery in Woodinville where Don, the manager of the nursery, had pulled all the plants ahead of time so I could see what was going in my landscape. He also showed me varieties of said plants that I may like better. He patiently went over many options so I was very happy with what was going in my yard. 4) The entire project was complete in 4 days. Alan's workers were respectful, knowledgeable and helpful. They quickly made little adjustments if I didn't like something and just did amazing work. They also fixed our tempermental irrigation system that many others had not been able to. The end result is nothing short of gorgeous in a very short period of time. My yard is exactly what I have always wanted. I would give an A+ if I could.

Mr. Burke Was a terrific advocate for our project for landscaping. The project included approx 150 foot rockery with drainage. He provided prior to the project start a completed landscape blueprint. outlining where flower beds would be placed and walking paths on our nearly acre property keeping in mind where the septic drain fields were and where the backup secondarly field would be in the event we would have a septic failure. He coordinated his crews daily schedule around the contractor who was completing a major renovation at the same time.

I hired Alan and Classic Nursery for a major yard renovation about three years ago. Alan's vision for my yard was something I had never even considered and it turned out to be pretty amazing. His crew was very professional, always cheerful and offered some additional ideas as we progressed over a three week period. I added to the scope of the project as I saw what a great job they were doing and they were able to complete that work as part of the project. I loved coming home from work and seeing the progress they had made during the day. And I also loved the organic flow of the process as we saw other opportunities emerging in the space. In March of this year, I had them do Phase 2. This project was much smaller and only took a few days. Again, Alan's vision was much better than mine and the latest project blends with the first one so beautifully that it looks like it was done at the same time (except for the plant sizes which will change rapidly). I highly recommend this company especially if you are looking for a creative approach, professionalism, and a reasonable price. I now have a yard that I absolutely love and I enjoy spending time outside (I didn't want to go out there before!!). The patio, walkways, water features, rocks, beautiful plants and tucked away spaces are exactly what I wanted. My friends like to come over just to sit outside, relax and enjoy the many birds who have also discovered the space. I don't know whether there will be a Phase 3 but if there is, I will hire Alan and Classic Nursery to do the project.

Classic Nursery and Landscape and my Company Norsk Design Build have worked together on half a dozen projects over the last few years. They provide an excellent design and professional and well organized installation. Their design service is tailored to each client, giving them options and often allowing the client to pick and choose which phases of the project they want to take on at any given time. In all of the projects we have worked on together, the clients have had a positive experience, as have we in coordinating our projects with Classic Nursery. It is refreshing to work with a professional company like Classic Nursery. I refer them regularly to all of my clients who have landscaping needs, because I am confident that my clients will have a good experience which will reflect well on my company.

No. Which service fits depends on whether the project needs a design, not on what it costs. Smaller work runs as an enhancement — a planting refresh, a patio, a drainage fix. Larger projects run as design and build. On-site meetings and estimates are complimentary.

One team from the first walk-through to final grade. Design is part of the project rather than something you buy separately. The work covers hardscape, planting, irrigation, lighting, drainage and carpentry, and the crew who build a landscape are the crew who maintain them, so nothing gets handed to a subcontractor halfway through.

Design and build, enhancements and maintenance all cover Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville, Sammamish, Bothell, Kenmore, Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Medina, north Seattle, Mukilteo, south Everett and Maltby. We also build in Seattle, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Duvall, Carnation, Fall City and Monroe.

Every plant we install carries a one-year warranty. It applies where the landscape has a working automatic irrigation system, because that is what carries new plants through a dry August. If a plant doesn't establish, we replace it. We started as a nursery, so you can see the plants before the work starts rather than picking them off a plan.
