My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Living in a historic neighborhood, Dawn specializes in remodeling and construction, focusing on architectural details. She loves making a design feel like it belongs in the original architecture of the home. She leans toward light and bright transitional decor that is accented by texture, unique art and accessories. While enjoying large-scale projects, Dawn is happy to entertain unique and challenging projects of any variety. Happy birthday to me! I contacted Dawn Cook Design on my last birthday to finally have professional help with our first floor renovation. Our 1995 new build was in desperate need for an update and we could not be more pleased with the fantastic designs, level of service; and the ability to be fluid with curve balls. Dawn and Dominic assessed our vision and put together a design that will be timeless and beautiful for years to come.

We have been working with Dawn and her team over the last few months and it has truly been a dream come true. I was immediately drawn to her style and vision and knew it would be the perfect fit. She understands me and my style and has introduced me to a whole new world. I wouldn’t do anything in my house without her direction and input! She has styled numerous rooms in our home so far and we couldn’t be happier. We can’t wait for all the projects still to come. She has made our home more beautiful than we ever could’ve imagined. In 2020 Dawn created a very innovative design for our kitchen and dining area. My husband and I simply love it! Due to COVID our project is delayed until June 2021 and we are looking forward to working with Dawn!!

I highly recommend Dawn Cook and her team. I was struggling to articulate my aesthetic and style and Dawn listened to me and responded with ideas that completely hit the mark. She also provided ideas at different price points and did not pressure me to choose the most expensive. Dawn's raw talent as a designer with color, space, texture and planning is also outstanding. I think it is a difficult challenge to balance creativity, customer service and project management, but Dawn Cook masters this.

Restoring a century home ourselves for past six years. When it came time for kitchen we needed professional help and that is exactly what we got. Dawn and team listen. They wanted to come and see our house. Listen to the story. Hear our aspirations. First, amazing ideas and inspiration came in. Next was plumbing and appliance greatness made possible by knowing the very best people. Structural engineering, carpentry, cabinet making were the same. Cutting edge technology solutions we hadn’t dreamt of were bonus to make our lives insanely easy. Tremendous talent and just good kind people.

I loved working with Dawn. Our project wasn’t easy as we moved to the US from abroad and started the remodel while we were still in Asia. Throw in Covid related travel restrictions and lockdowns and we were in for a complicated renovation! Thankfully Dawn was up to the task and together with our Project Manager (who she had recommended) worked tirelessly throughout lockdown and via Zoom calls to get ahead with the house. The project isn’t small and she took it on with gusto and was great to communicate with. Once we finally got to the US, Dawn and I had great creative brainstorming sessions. I was very happy that we worked so well together as I have my own distinct taste when it comes to colours and decorating but Dawn (and her amazing assistant Sadie) helped me elevate those to new heights! While we are done with the major part of the first floor, we still have some bits and bobs to do around the house and I’m glad I can call Dawn for her trusted advice. I’m so happy I found her through Houzz and honoured to call her a friend and creative partner.

I have worked with Dawn on three projects in my Shaker home and continue to be grateful for her assistance, design and experience. She worked well with my various project-based budgets. I finished my last project about a year ago but just today was thinking, "I love my custom couch and how comfortable it is! I’m so glad I followed Dawn's lead on this choice. My whole family loves the Living room and it makes me so happy to see varied (and coordinating!) patterns, textures,etc. And, truly, it gives me so much joy to walk through my Dining room and see how the little details Dawn guided me on are so pleasing to the eye." Dawn has also introduced me to some wonderful, local vendors I would never have met and who I have come to trust. She does a great job and has a great staff too. They are all a pleasure to work with and a reflection of Dawn's vision and professionalism. I would recommend Dawn and look forward to our next project!
