Granite Works Countertops

We had a horrible experience working with Granite works and will not recommend this company to anyone. We selected a quartz countertop with their sales rep (Evan and Snell), we paid the 70% deposit and were told that the countertop will be installed within 1 week after the measurement. They could not deliver the countertop even 3 weeks after the measurement as their supplier didn't have it in stock, and they could not even give us a timeframe for when it will be in stock. So we asked to give our deposit back. At this point, they said they will deduct 30% from the deposit as a contract cancellation fee! and refused to give our full deposit back or give a timeframe of when they will be able to install the countertop. We were so shocked by this response and were totally in disbelief that the company could do this and act with such dishonesty. This is a brick-and-mortar store with several years of business, maybe they are under new ownership, otherwise, I am not sure how they could survive with such bad business practices. Fortunately, we paid using a credit card. Our credit card company was able to dispute the charges on our behalf. But we had to go thru a lot of stress and paperwork just because we had $5,500 at risk (70% deposit) and our kitchen remodeling project was stuck incurring us additional contractor expenses. Please be careful working with this company. If you do decide to work, please ensure you modify the contract with a clause that gets your deposit back if the company is unable to provide the service within the acceptable timeframe. Their current contract has no such protection for customers. And from our experience, we can tell that Granite Works will not act ethically in difficult situations. Also, always use a credit card for payments as it provides additional safety and protection for the customers in such situations.

Granite Works is the only place I recommend for any countertop surface, be it Granite or Quartz, to my clients, friends and family. I have worked with Bruno and Gus Valenti and their amazing staff on many projects. Every client has been thrilled with the quality of the product, their prompt service and guidance in selecting the right material for their job. The Master Bathroom they just supplied and installed quartz for us is simply stunning! And, my clients could not be more thrilled. My wife and I worked and interacted primarily with Gus Valente (owner), and he was always professional and very patient with our many questions regarding timelines, installation, and countertop care. Gus even went out of his way to personally come to our home for a follow up visit following installation to fill small naturally occurring divots in the quartzite. Granite Works' installation staff were also professional, courteous, and careful. The thing we appreciated most was that Gus was always, and continues to be, responsive to any of our calls and emails, even five months after installation. We had a follow up question regarding mild etching in the quartzite, and he responded immediately with recommendations. In regards to price, we received quotes from big box stores, as well as three other stone yards off of Gude Drive in Rockville, MD. Not only was Granite Works the most competitive for granite and quartz, but Granite Works was the only firm to show us quartzite as an additional option. We highly recommend Gus Valente and his firm Granite Works.

the project with Granite works started out positive; I spoke with salesperson who advised difference in granite; and gave a cost analysis comparisons. I asked if I would get the 10% discount; I was advised I would. I picked out the granite and was excited to get the project done. I noted there was not a discount and inquired by email; having given $2,000 of the $2,933.44. A Bruno emailed me and called it a "misunderstanding" offering $125. instead or refund. I felt this was a slap in the face and asked to speak to a Manger. This is not good customer service, this is not "working with the customer" currently they are touting old good customer comments.

Granite Works has completed two projects for me including all the granite in a kitchen with counter-tops with back splashes and a dining peninsula. The team was very professional and the project was completed in the time frame they stated and for the price we agreed upon. I intend to use Granite Works in the future and recommend them to friends.

He made great suggestions to our contractor on how to best use the space in our small kitchen including some modest design changes that made a huge impact in modernizing our kitchen. At the completion of the work, our kitchen and bathrooms were completely transformed! The kitchen is fresh, modern, warm and inviting.

Granite Works installed beautiful countertops for our kitchen remodel! THey were professional, honest and got the job done on time.
