We had the pleasure of working with David & Richard on two projects. One was for a proposed bathroom/laundry room expansion, which was not built because the property was sold before the work could be done. We worked on bathroom design through selection of finishes and were very excited about the proposed work. The beautifully completely project in our new home was a living room bookcase and cabinet work surrounding a fireplace, approximately 10' high and 16' long. The fireplace wall had no distinction, so David & Richard added a beautiful mantle, as well as a marble tile surround and marble hearth. The traditional style bookcase became the focal point of the room and actually changed the shape of the room to a much more pleasing style. They created space for hidden indirect lighting above the bookcases. The also assisted on color selection for our new home. Finally, they were kind enough to offer design ideas for our patio/garden area. While others did the work, their design was the basic template for the work. We couldn't have been happier with the work and highly recommend them. They are talented, professional and easy to work with.

My wife and I hired Harris & Kasten to design a new contemporary home in Healdsburg. I can't emphasize how much we enjoyed working with them. We were mostly unaware of the process but knew what we wanted. And they helped get us there. If there was something that couldn't be done, they would tell us. If we wanted to reduce cost in an area, they offered suggestions. We met frequently and discussed the project in great detail. Ultimately, they were able to realize our vision and added elements that made it even better.

Harris & Kasten do magnificent work. I feel so grateful to be working with them on our home addition. They are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. In addition, they have a wonderful creative flair and really worked with my husband and I to deliver plans for a beautiful and graceful addition to our property. Harris & Kasten were an absolute pleasure to work with. They are very creative and have a wide range of architectural and decorating experience. If you want modern, you get modern. If you want rococo, you get rococo. I had them oversee my projects as well. They quickly resolved issues and gave me options if adjustment had to be made. They were always on budget. I highly recommend this dynamic duo!

We have Mr. Kasten designed our house. We are still building . The more we closer to the completion, the more we appreciating the architecture concepts and designs. And we love the house more.. Will upload photos when it is completed! Thanks Richard and David!

I hired Harris and Kasten for a dental office remodel at a time where we were having a hard time coming up with a cohesive design scheme. They had amazing ideas and our dental office turned out amazing! We even got an extra bonus which was David Harris's genius artistry in the form of a ceiling mural for the pediatric room. David transformed an entire ceiling into an undersea vision. Just amazing. Thanks Harris and Kasten for turning our project into a success!

I have hired Richard Kasten and David Harris three times now for dining room, kitchen, and most recently a bath remodel project, and I would highly recommend them. They did the architectural work, interior design work and some of the craftsman finishing work including beautiful faux painting. They worked closely with the contractor they recommended to ensure coordination of the project. They were very good about listening to me, and through conversations and looking at pictures and samples extracting what my vision for the project was, and what my tastes were. Then they are able to come up with lots of options and creative ideas that delighted and surprised me. Particularly, they excelled at coming up with creative solutions to design problems - we uncovered some limitations in my 60 year old house due to original structure, and they turned them into features rather than problems. I wanted a Provence looking kitchen, and I absolutely love the result. They helped me make practical choices so it is highly functional and low maintenance, but yet with really unique design features. They are also very cooperative and pleasant to work with, and have incredible knowledge of art and design history and techniques to draw on in coming up with innovative designs.

I moved to a '60's house that needed to be updated: new kitchen, baths, better use of rooms. The Harris & Kasten team came in with innovative ideas-raised ceilings, created a formal entry hall that sets the tone of the decor of the house and architectual details that add to the richness of the decor. Now that I have lived with the project for eight years, I wouldn't change a thing.

Harris and Kasten remodeled and redecorated our home in Atherton, our ranch home in Hopland, CA and our town house in Lake Tahoe over the period from the early 1990’s until the present. They also redesigned our “barn” (now a four bedroom, four bath guest dwelling) in Hopland, CA. As you can see, we are very pleased with their talents, creativity and results.

My husband and I have worked with Harris & Kasten since the late 1990s. They have done many projects for us, including our lovely home in Atherton. Our home is a combination of Italian and French design. Everything was done to a tee! We could not be more pleased with their knowledge of art, art history, history, architecture, etc. You cannot go wrong with them.
