Decided to use this company from a referral from a realtor. Bottom line, I was quoted a price through email from Bruce Petrov but when I received my invoice, there was a $65 "trip charge" added to the cost. Expressed my displeasure with Bruce and was told I should have checked their website for pricing. I did not feel the need to check the website when I had an email from the owner quoting me a price. The quality of the work was not satisfactory, I needed a drop ceiling "fine tuned". End result was the work was not done to my satisfaction and a couple of ceiling tiles were broken (which I'll need to replace) during the process.

Rich, I'm sorry that you feel shorted on this repair. I'm glad that you posted your experience for others, though. It's good for others to be able to see that we don't have 100% satisfaction.

If I don't set the expectations right, then this can happen. I believe that I should have gone out to take a look at your small repair instead of having you send the picture. I was just trying to help you because of the very short time frame that you had.

I do want to clarify that I did include the $65 trip charge in my quote. I planned on 4 hours, but it took him 4.5 hours. We discussed ahead of time that this was an approximate price based a picture that you sent and it could vary. Also, you asked my guy to look at a non-functioning light while he was there. This wasn't mentioned when I was first told about the job. He had to remove the light and switch to check for wiring problems which could have easily amounted to the extra half hour of time that you saw on your bill. Did you expect us to do this for free?

The cracked ceiling tiles are a result of the ceiling originally being installed, by someone else, too close to the floor joists above. You can get new ties, but they won't go in without being bent or cracked because of the way the ceiling was installed.

Again, I'm really sorry for the disappointment. Best to you on the sale of your house!

We became clients of HMS in August 2014 and have been 100 percent satisfied with their service. We receive quarterly visits for routine maintenance such as cleaning the dryer vent duct, sealing the roof around our stone chimney and a long checklist of items for each season of the year. Quarterly visits also have included special projects such as interior painting, power washing/sealing the driveway, installing light fixtures, repairing/replacing faucets and much more! Our service man, Pete, always arrives promptly and is fully prepared with all equipment and supplies needed for every job. He is very skilled at all types of handyman jobs. Pete is efficient, careful, cleans up after every project and amazes us with how much he can accomplish in every four-hours visit. Our most recent visit was in May 2017 and the cost was less than $350.

We contracted with HMS for quarterly maintenance on our older home. Bruce did a walkthrough and identified areas of concern and wrote down the serial number of every appliance in the house. Every three months the same service man provides 4 hours of time. He has fixed plumbing, a remote for an older ceiling fan, built a riser for the washer and dryer, tightened doorknobs, and numerous other projects needing attention. We also contracted with HMS to repair and paint our deck. They are reliable, knowledgeable, and provide a check list of all the maintenance done.

Home Maintenance solutions has done several jobs for me over a period of several years. I have been very happy with the work that has been done. We are huge fans of HMS and their staff. I think it's telling that we've been going to them for help with two different homes now since 2004/2005! They've done small jobs around our house and have caught maintenance issues early--things we might have missed as homeowners. I would recommend them without reservation.

This is by far one of the most professional organizations that I have had the pleasure of doing business with. I am a handy person that can do a lot of high level tasks, but I don't have the time. By using their services (monthly fee), I have a lot more time for a busy life. I can see where this service would be perfect for retired individuals (my mother) that want to stay in their home and keep up with all of the daunting maintenance tasks. HMS helped me find out some of the hidden tasks that I would have never found and it is just part of their service. Super nice, professional, and trustworthy. I don't change the oil on my car anymore, and now I don't maintain my house. I leave it to the professionals that do it quicker, better, and stand behind their work. Thanks HMS!!!
