This company started off highly promptly communicative, often responding within minutes--unfortunately once they were paid and felt the work was done, that communication completely dissipated. The work was started and concluded the work on time. They did however leave some cement forms and evidence of trampling on both my and plants on my next door neighbors. There is a 12-14 inch line of cement across my lawn, splattered cement on my storm door and pilasters, spilled cement leading to the parking lot, loads of rubble not removed but left in the parking lot, flower beds and lawn, but most importantly, the railing is wobbly and completely unsafe. I was SO disappointed as I have contacted the Owner (Ilan) twice subsequent to them concluding the work and he did respond once saying he was busy and would get right back to me--that was three weeks ago and I have never heard from him again. I realize a bad review can sink a business, especially a small one which is why I had tried to get the owner to respond. Overall, I would say their Customer Service is lacking, based upon their lack of follow-up but the value and craftsmanship was satisfactory--you will just have to clean up behind them.

My husband and I are more than satisfied with our kitchen renovation by Detailz Construction. We worked with Ilan specifically. From the first time I met with Ilan I was very comfortable with him. He had great ideas for how to complete our renovation within our limited budget and listened carefully to what we said we wanted and needed in the kitchen. Ilan also was prompt with responses and made time each day of the renovation to talk to us in person about progress and the next steps. He also gave us honest feedback about our ideas based on his experience, which was very reassuring. During the early stages of the renovation we discovered that our floor joists were all rotted, which resulted in us having to completely gut the kitchen. This was pretty terrifying for my husband and I, but Detailz walked us through it. They were very reasonable with extra charges as a result of the unforeseen change. We never once felt like we were being taken advantage of, and felt very thankful to be working with such an honest company. Even though this extended our original estimated time of completion, Ilan’s team (2-5 men each day depending on workload) was working at our house for at least 8 hours each day, 5-6 days per week, so we weren’t without a kitchen for very long. We are so incredibly thrilled with the end product, and it is better than what we could have ever imagined for our kitchen for our budget! It looks magazine quality! These guys really know what they are doing. I would highly recommend them, and would absolutely use them again in the future! You will be in good hands!

In the past 6 months, I've used Detailz three times for my Baltimore City home! If contracting someone 3 times for 3 different projects doesn't represent 5 stars, I don't know what does! I first heard of Detailz after posting on a neighborhood forum in search of a contractor who could repair/retain my basement wall which partially collapsed during the big January snow storm. Ilan reached out directly to me and was very helpful via email which convinced me to have him come out for an estimate. I also asked 2 other contractors for estimates before making my decision but I immediately knew Detailz would be our go-to within moments of meeting Ilan. He's very professional and straight forward. I didn't feel pushed to make a decision right away and I felt like he was being honest with me about pricing/costs. Moreover, as a woman, I felt safe with Ilan - whether he was conscious of it or not, I felt like he took extra steps to ensure I felt safe and comfortable with him as the only person in the house during the estimate. Once we signed the contract, Ilan was easy to keep in touch with, get my questions answered, and was quick to set a work date. His crew was great. The work was excellent, they kept a clean work space, and once again, I always felt safe when I was in the house alone. I hired Detailz again this summer after the basement issue continued to be an issue - not Detailz work, of course.... just the rest of the basement which was letting in water which gave me consider related to mold and the integrity of the foundation. I still asked for 2 other estimates even though I know we'd end up going with Ilan. All the estimates provided were similar. As with the first job, Ilan was easy to keep in touch with, set up a work date very quickly, and his crew worked hard and fast to get the work done which included a drainage system in the basement and a new drainage system outside. I'm really happy with the work and feel so much better about the condition of my basement. Finally, we had the crew to the house to clean our air ducts. It was something I mentioned in passing to Ilan during the 2nd job and he informed me it was something new they could do. Of course, it was easy to hire him for the job knowing I'd receive quality work and clean breathing. As usual, the process was easy and smooth. Both my partner and mom have met Ilan and both have expressed how nice and easy he was to work with. My neighbor who works from home also expressed to me how great the crew was during their 4 days working outside in between our little ally way. I highly recommend Detailz - you won't be disappointed!

Detailz Construction did a full renovation of our master bathroom. This included retiling the floor and shower, installation of a new toilet, installation of a new vanity and vessel sink and new glass shower doors. Detailz also inspected all plumbing and made repairs where necessary. Detailz was in constant communication and consultation with us...superior customer service.

Details attempted a roof repair on my flat TPO roof. 15 months later I had water dripping from my ceiling lights. I called Detailz to see if they would come have a look and see if the repair was holding or if there was some other source of a leak. They declined to come out and said they don't do roof work any more. Also the guarantee on their work per our contract was only 12 months so they wouldn't help me out if the work was faulty anyway. Turns out the entire repair has failed, all of the patch material is peeling off and I now have more, bigger wet areas of the sub-roof. So now I have to go find someone who knows what they are doing to repair the now much bigger problem with my roof. If you work with Detailz make sure you double check their experience on whatever specific repair they are attempting (they obviously had no idea what they were doing trying to repair a TPO roof), and check the contract to make sure you are comfortable with the length of their guarantee. In my opinion a professional roof repair darn well better last more than 12 months. In fairness they also did some masonry repair that as far as I am aware is still holding up.

Detailz completed a wood retaining wall for me. They did a fabulous job! The work was completed quickly and professionally. Ilan was great to work with on this project. He cared about getting what I needed accomplished the most reasonable way possible. I would definitely recommend Detailz and will use them on future projects.

Detailz Construction agreed to remodel two bathrooms and the kitchen in my small condo. They started over 6 months ago and the work is still not complete. My experience with Detailz is mixed at best. They are nice people with good ideas about remodeling and their bid was careful and not at all excessive. Some of the work was very good. The tile work, especially a creative fix of existing floor tile, was valuable. They allowed me to purchase all the plumbing fixtures myself, even though it was an extra complication. However, they failed at reasonable communication, at keeping the worksite clean, at fixing the problems they created and at completing the job. For example: They did cover the carpets in my home with thin plastic sheeting, but did not keep the sheeting intact. More importantly, they cut tile inside, despite their being a huge outside space to accommodate the tile cutter. My carpet and furniture ended up covered, completely, with dust. They sent a "crew" to clean at my request - the work was so shoddy I had to redo it all. They installed cabinet doors with obvious flaws. They agreed to replace them - but haven't returned to do so - or communicated a useful plan to me despite several emails. They had to move the refrigerator to fix a problem they created, then did not hook up the icemaker when they replaced the refrigerator. They said it was repaired, it still doesn't work. The cabinet installation left sloppy and unfinished edges around the refrigerator. I had to demand they return to make it look finished. I could go on. I would not recommend this company for any significant remodeling project.

I would simply echo all the positive reviews Detailz has already received. Our experience was the same, all positive. Ours is the paver parking pad/patio in Upper Patterson park you can see on their face book page. We also complicated matters by engaging them and then not being around and then having to hold up the project. They took that entirely in their stride and were ready to proceed when we were. We ended up having to arrange for the work while we were out of state. It was very reassuring to have it all come together so smoothly and easily and timely and the finished product was all we could hope for. The folks at Detailz had good suggestions for solving drainage issues that existed and dealt with the sewer cap that protruded from the parking area without having to be asked for a solution.

We had a great back patio renovation done. This included excavating the old concrete and invasive tree and building a new concrete floor, building side wall, stucco on 4 walls, building a porch roof with a ceiling fan and new light fixtures.

I am a realtor and have used Detailz for all my clients needs. There professionalism and responsiveness, is a step ahead of other contractors. Very good pricing as well. From full renovations to a kitchen remodel, Detailz Construction Corporation is my go to company. Thank you!!!
