Last year after 40 years, we ripped out all our tired evergreen landscaping in front of our house. For the past year we searched and searched for someone to take on our relatively small project -- 50 feet of planting. The landscape designers we called would come out to see our area and then forget about us. We wondered if the landscape gods were laughing at us because we removed everything on Earth Day. Then we met Jill Davis, and we are beyond thrilled with our new front yard! Jill is a delight to work with. Our first meeting, she spent most of an afternoon getting to know us and what we liked. Our front landscaping is tailored to our preferences, including the seasonal color we prefer and how much time we want to spend tending to it. She designed beautiful lighting for us for security as well as showcasing our new tree. She also suggested a reasonably priced watering system that we could install ourselves. It has been several weeks since the plantings have gone in, and we have received several compliments from our neighbors. Along with us, they are pleased with the results. An amazing designer with stunning vision, working with Jill is pure joy. She provided an abundance of ideas and options as she designed the makeover of our 30 year old landscape. Working with what we like and didn’t like, and our level of plant knowledge, she always made us feel like we were working together. She was onsite the entire time that the landscapers were working, willing to adjust her plan as she saw opportunities to make every inch the best it could be. Thank you Jill for all the work involved in transforming our front beds and paver walkway. We absolutely love the Brussels pavers with the added black stone edgin that you recommended, along with the plantings and removal of ground cover it is a complete update to our home and we love how it looks when we pull into the drive. We are also thankful that you and your team were knowledgeable and able to install French drains on all of our downspouts eliminating all water puddling around the foundation when it rains. Our back and side yard look wonderful too, your team was able to remove a huge tree that was diseased and nicely clean out dead branches and reshape trees which has made a huge visual improvement. We love how you were able to extend our existing berm to accommodate the installation of a beautiful fence and plant interesting new trees and bushes to enhance and transform our back and side property. We’re looking forward to enjoying your work for many years! We could not have achieved this without your design skills and awesome team who made it all happen! Jill was a pleasure to work with. She is very professional and really knows her stuff! We had a drainage problem in the front of our house and she solved it in a very attractive way. We loved her work so much that we then had her redo our back yard. We highly recommend her for whatever your landscape needs.

Jill is an absolute GEM to work with! I worked with Jill around a water issue we had with our sump pump in the front of my yard. Jill and her team came up with a wonderful design that fixed our issue and made it look beautiful and intentional. I had Jill come back to do some additional landscaping around my house. She listens to what you want and provides a one of a kind design with color and texture. So many people have commented on how wonderful my landscaping looks. I couldn’t recommend Jill more!!! She’s lovely to work with and so knowledgeable!!! She recommended a landscaping mister system for me since i joked that i hated watering. She helped me decide on what i needed to order and even came over to help me with some tips and tricks to install it. Jill is a gem!!!!

Jill did an amazing job transforming our yard! Now I feel happy every time I pull into the driveway and see how beautiful everything looks. Her design is gorgeous and she used some very fun and interesting plants in addition to traditional favorites. I really enjoy the colors that she suggested to complement our house and I love the way that everything works together. She's a real artist and also extremely knowledgeable about plants and what will work well. I wanted something that looked good but was also very low maintenance and Jill really listened and worked with me to find the right items for us. Jill did a great job taking my input and using it to guide her vision for our yard. I love it. Jill was very personable and knowledgeable about which plants to use in my courtyard. She was very patient and truly cared about the selection of plants that would be appropriate. Jill helped design our backyard with ideas for the trees I wanted and incorporating some of her ideas. One of the initial lilac bushes planted died within 30 days. I had to plead with her to replace it which she met with resistance but ultimately replaced it. Additionally, an expensive Norway Spruce that she installed died within 8 months of planting. I know that garden centers guarantee their plantings for 1 year. Jill refused to replace. So now I have a gaping hole in my garden design. Make sure you select a designer that guarantees their plantings for a year!!

Jill is amazing! She has completely transformed our yard from blah to beautiful. We know nothing about landscaping, and Jill came to our rescue with the most awesome design plan. She gave us the pizzazz we were looking for, with plants and flowers I didn’t even know existed. All work was done quickly and efficiently, and Jill’s expertise is second to none. She’s a sweet lady who loves what she does, and worked to make sure that we’re happy with the final result. I’ll recommend her to everyone I know.

Jill made all of my landscaping dreams come true this spring! After years of trying to design my flower beds myself and wasting so much money on the plants that just didn’t work for one reason or another, I finally contacted Jill to help me redesign my front curb appeal. We hired Jill to completely redesign the front and both sides of our house and we could not be happier! We did not have a lot of ideas of our own so relied heavily on her (obvious) expertise. Jill was very patient with us, showing us lots of pictures to get an idea of what we liked and didn’t like. Less than 2 weeks later, we met again to go over her design sketch and proposal and the work was completed the following week. I love that Jill chooses “hard working” plants that look good throughout the changing seasons, change colors, bloom multiple times, etc to keep our yard looking it’s best year-round. The landscaper she works with dug out our 30 year-old shrubs, planted, mulched and cleaned up in one day. Jill was there the whole day helping out and making sure everything was done to plan. We went from bulky, Yew shrubs lining the house on all sides to beautiful, clean, interesting landscaping. After the job was finished, Jill even recommended an inexpensive watering system for us, put together a list of all the parts we would need for it, AND created a sketch of our garden showing how we should layout the system. Jill definitely went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend Jill (and have!).

I hired Jill to give a refresh to my current landscaping. I loved working with Jill! She spent a significant amount of time with me to get a feeling of my likes/dislikes, and to learn exactly what I was looking for. She came back with a plan which we reviewed together and agreed upon. We agreed on an installation date and she was there the entire time ensuring everything was what we discussed and she took the time to explain how to care for the newly installed shrubs, plants, etc. I love how everything turned out! I couldn't be more pleased with the beautiful design, and the quality of plants and work that was done on our landscaping. Jill took a very drab and overgrown area in the front of our home, and changed it into a very warm, beautiful and inviting entryway that I am now loving, and no longer embarrassed to have people walk up to my home. I worked with Jill in the spring. She redesigned my front landscape and installed an amazing watering system. Jill was just fantastic! She had awesome ideas and picked out plants that I would have never considered on my own. As a result, my front landscape is full of color and fun plants that are 'hard workers'. Jill planted the most incredible rose bushes I have ever seen. I would look out my windows everyday at those rose bushes and this year they were still blooming in November! I would happily recommed Jill for any landscape design project large or small!

I needed to add some curb appeal to my front yard and Jill did just that. She listened carefully to my ideas, made suggestions and explained what I could expect of the plants we chose. Jill worked with us this Spring to come up with a design for our pond and backyard that grows more lovely and lush as the days go on. She was wonderful to work with and listens to learn what you want, but at the same time directs you to plants that are best for you. She knows her plants. I love her philosophy...."make the plants work for you!"...meaning they must bring beauty to your garden at each stage of the season. We are looking forward to working together again.

I just completed a large front yard renovation with Jill and couldn't be happier. She has a great eye for design and really knows which plants will work in your setting and give you the maximum impact. Jill designed not only the garden beds but also hardscaping, including a new brick walkway and new driveway. Her client communication is excellent - I seldom had to wait more than half an hour for a response to any question or concern. She was on site the entire time for the plant material installation to make sure everything was perfect. Her crew was neat, efficient, and professional. And she made sure I was 100% satisfied on completion. I continue to get compliments from the neighbors on how well the project turned out. I would not hesitate to hire her again for future projects.

I loved working with Jill. She made sure her design fit my wishes and needs. She also made sure the plants would fit my current design and most importantly - the unique micro-culture of my garden - part of which is like a bog. I came across Jill Davis Design while browsing through landscape design photos on the Houzz website. I decided to contact Jill to get some help updating our front yard landscaping. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic from the very beginning. Jill did not just "update" the landscaping but gave us a front yard that I absolutely LOVE! Throughout the design process, Jill made sure to take into account what we like and worked hard to create a space that we can enjoy for many years to come. Jill is a very enthusiastic person to work with and has plenty of good ideas. Her work crew is the best I've ever used. Her plants were amazing, perfect, healthy, large. They were so much better than the stuff other people planted for me years ago. She knows which plants will do well and which ones that are not worth the effort. Jill personally supervised each specimen that was planted. If it was not just right, it was replanted to her liking. Everything looked beautiful for the remainder of the summer and I'm anxiously awaiting to see my PJM rhododendron and tree peony in full bloom this spring. Jill and her crew were a delight to work with. We received so many compliments from the neighbors on her work. Her work was finished in a timely and professional manner. She was over budget, but I understood the reasons for that.

Jill redesigned and planted three different areas in our yard. She really listened to what we wanted, gave great recommendations, and completed the work well. Jill has a real heart for making her clients happy and a passion for beautiful landscape. She is responsive and has answered all of my questions without making me feel foolish. She has encouraged me to experiment in my yard on my own too. Soon after we started working together, my mom passed away. Jill was so kind to make our family a meal and plant a special plant in my mom's memory in my new garden. Jill is someone special! My wife and I are novices when it comes to landscaping, but needed to do something with the front of our house. Jill Davis Design has planned many gardens and designed numerous pots for me through the years. They are all so different no matter what time of year. She does ask what I want or would like, yet I trust her to just create. She is quite a master. A few years ago, I wanted to update my holiday decorating "inside" my home. I was not quite sure what I wanted. She knows what I like and got busy! It was truly spectacular! I would highly recommend her for any design I your garden, pots and holiday for ideas that are most unique.

Jill designed a new landscape design for the front of our two story home.She spent a great deal of time listening to my ideas and offered suggestions for what would look good in this area. Together, we poured through catalogs, selecting the right varieties and colors of shrubs and bushes. This was indeed a team effort where my input was valued and respected.
