I hired Newtown for a complete main-floor remodel of my 1910 West Seattle home. From the first meeting through final project acceptance/sign off, the Newtown team were consummate professionals. They exceeded even my lofty expectations on the project, not only expertly weaving in my visions for the space, but also recommending amazing and practical ideas that greatly enhanced the end result. The communication on the project was excellent, and I always knew exactly where I stood in regards to timeline and budget status. I would highly recommend Newtown to anyone, without reservation!

Newtown reconfigured and rebuilt two bathrooms and a laundry room for us this fall. Working closely with us and our architect, they carried out the design and had great ideas for the inevitable surprises. They were a pleasure to have in our home, stayed on the agreed upon timeline, and came in slightly under budget.

We are the architects of the Broadmoor Residence, located in a gated community in Seattle. Newtown Builders did a fabulous job constructing the building, overcoming many obstacles and challenges along the way. John and his crew produced a fine building, as evidenced by the photos showcased on their Houzz website, and in a lengthy spread in Luxe magazine. They gave thoughtful attention to complex details, and carefully crafted numerous fine finishes. The end result rivals the best houses in the area. I highly recommend Newtown and look forward to working with them again.

Newtown Builders has done 3 remodels for us over the past 10 years. Each project had special, but different challenges. In each, John and staff guided us through the design and product selection process while delivering outstanding work quality and timely project completion. John has also acquired exceptionally skilled individuals for his work team and long standing relationships with reputable subcontractors. I can recommend contracting with this firm and we would definitely seek them out for any future projects.

We have had John and Scott do at least 2 projects for our house which is a 1903 Capitol Hill house. The first project was a bookcase that was built in our dining room. Scott made sure to keep the details in keeping with the age of the house and the finished project is truly beautiful. Our second project was much more elaborate. We had them completely finish our basement. The project was done in keeping with the design of the house and it is a very detailed woodworking project that was done to perfection. They completed a media room, music room, a project room along with an additional bedroom area. The detail of each room was done so well. It truly is amazing. The project was started AND finished on time. Clean up happened on a daily basis and the project did not intrude into our lives at all. This is a very good company that has a great reputation. Newtown Builders exceeded our expectations in both jobs they completed for us. We hired them to do a $250,000 build out for our chiropractic office in Seattle and they created an amazing space for us, on time and $25,000 under budget. We were thrilled with the entire experience. When it came time to do some large renovations to our home, which included re-building a garage, re-wiring knob and tube electric, removing walls and redoing floors to transform our house, they came through. I recommend them very highly and know that they are our Seattle contractors!

John was the first of 7 contractors we interviewed for our house remodel project. After meeting all of them, John was the one we wanted to do the job. Sadly, by the time we got back to him, he had taken another job! In the 8 years since then, John has done extensive remodel projects on 3 other family members' houses and smaller projects at our house, so we have still had the pleasure of working with and getting to know John and his crew. John and the carpenters that work with him are experienced, highly skilled, resourceful and committed to quality. And, they are all incredibly nice, conscientious and interesting people...just who you want caring for your home and having around your home throughout the project!

John is an experienced craftsman who takes pride in the finished product. Both his own personal work, and that of his crew. Every construction project will have some unexpected glitches or suprises. Newtown Construction minimizes these with careful planning and good supplier relations. I hired John for several projects of varying complexity, and would not hesitate to hire him again. This is the second time we've used Newtown Builders and have also recommended them to others. Our current project was a high end total remodel of a "mid-century modern" where we took both floors down to the four outer walls and rebuilt over 11 months. Prior was a kitchen addition. Overall, we highly recommend NBI and would use them again. They are honest, fair, friendly, organized and use great subs. The core team is John (owner), Scott and Albie. All are great to work with. Scott in particular is an extraordinally talented craftsman with exceptionally high standards.

We have been clients of Newtown Builders for multiple home improvement projects dating to 2001. We used Newtown Builders for a kitchen remodel, a bathroom conversion from 1/2 to 3/4, an exterior re-build of our home's entry way, and a complete conversion of our basement from semi-finished to modern living space. The latter included upgrades to our home heating system, new electrical, and new plumbing. On all these projects, the work was done timely and with a high level of craftsmanship. John was always highly attentive to work progress and our satisfaction level. John's bids are clearly presented and always in the competitive range.
